Valais is a region in the south of Switzerland with the most sunshine hours and the highest mountains in Europe, for instance, the Matterhorn. Just an hour's drive from the Italian border lies this quiet campsite. Camping Simplonblick is a good match for campers who don't set great store by luxury. At the back of the campsite, there is a forest, and the view of the beautiful mountain peaks is picture-perfect. Put on your hiking boots or grab a bike to explore the beautiful nature reserve. The campsite looks dated, but the new manager is changing things up.

Camping in Valais
Just steps from the A9, the campsite driveway is behind a motel and gas station. Even if you are travelling through to Italy, the location is very central, and in the beautiful surroundings, there are many places of interest within easy reach. Once you arrive at the camping fields, everything gets quieter, and a sprawling view of the high mountains awaits you. There is a small supermarket a ten-minute walk away, and the Rhone River flows behind the nearby village of Raron.
A view from your pitch
The highlight of the campsite is the view of the mountains. As soon as you step out of the tent or caravan, you are already enjoying the beauty of nature. In the summer, you will find campers from different countries, including many Swiss families staying on a permanent site.
The sanitary building has been refurbished by the new manager. Please note that at the front of the site, you may hear traffic at some times of the day.
