Amidst nature and located directly on the Gulf of Bothnia, slightly to the south of Sundsvall, lies the beautiful Bergafjärdens Campsite. Virtually the entire campsite has been renovated recently so that everything looks spick and span. There is nothing but nature in the surrounding area. The campsite also has a large number of trees, which provide ample shade on the spacious pitches. The ‘havsbad’ (sea bath) reflected in the name of the campsite refers to a very spacious private beach along the Bergafjärden. Because the Gulf of Bothnia is relatively shallow, the water warms quickly in summer. Glorious!

Wonderful facilities
The reception of the campsite also serves as a shop, which is reasonably well-stocked. There is also quite a bit of tourist information available. As the campsite was recently revamped you will not have want of anything. Everything is in excellent condition, well-maintained and kept clean. Showers are payable with a chip card which will be issued to you when you check in.
Restaurant
The campsite has an amiable restaurant with an extensive menu. You can also get takeaway meals to eat in your own tent, caravan or motorhome. Jenny’s café forms the friendly meeting point of Bergafjärden with lovely coffee and cake.
Coast and sea
The coast north of Sundsvall is also referred to as ‘Höga Kusten’ (the high coast). The reason for this is that some parts rise steeply from the sea. Distinctive is that the land, and with it the coast, are still rising due to post-glacial rebound after the retreat of the ice cap of the last Ice Age. As a result, the land rises by some 8 mm each year.
