This campsite is located within walking distance of the beach town of Peñíscola. The historic city centre (which is built on a peninsula), the long sandy beach and the pleasant boulevard make this one of the most beautiful seaside resorts in Spain. Moreover, Camping El Cid is located on the edge of the Sierra de Irta: an impressive nature reserve where you can enjoy hiking and mountain biking. The campsite features a good restaurant with local specialities, a nice outdoor swimming pool and a programme of activities during the high season.

A well-maintained, shady campsite

Camping El Cid primarily has spaces for tourist camping pitches. However, there are also spacious touring pitches available that are both well defined and maintained The campsite also has wooden bungalows and nice retro caravans for hire. Furthermore, this area is relatively green. There are plenty of shady spots due to the many trees on site.

Take a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool

At the front of the campsite, you'll find a large, rectangular outdoor swimming pool. It's an ideal place to cool off on hot summer days. Of course, you can also stay in shape by swimming laps in the pool. A paddling pool is located right next to it. This water park is completely safe for swimming, thanks also to the presence of professional lifeguards.

Diverse entertainment programme during the high season

The swimming pool is also the location for regular aqua-gym sessions during the summer. In any case, many fun activities are organised during the high season. From pétanque tournaments and paella cooking competitions to spectacular water festivals, foam parties and summer carnivals: there's entertainment for campers of all ages. There's also a special entertainment team for young children, who can also enjoy themselves on the cheerful outdoor playground at the El Cid campsite.

Travelling party: Couple

Der Platz war für uns Perfekt. Das Waschhaus war stets sauber. Die Rezeption arbeitet schnell, korrekt und unkompliziert. Der Weg zum Stand ist zwar etwas weit aber mit dem Fahrrad kein Problem. Schöne Prommenade und super Radwege. Supermarkt ALDI und Mercadonna gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Einzig vom Restaurant waren wir enttäuscht. Ansonsten ein super Aufenthalt. Wir werden auf der Rückreise noch einmal dort vorbeischauen.

Travelling party: Seniors

Sehr freundliches Personal, sehr unkompliziert, Sanitär top, Lage zum Ort gut, Aldi (gz neu) 5 Gehminuten entfernt. Etwa die Hälfte der Plätze schienen mehr oder weniger dauerbelegt. Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre auf dem Platz. Viele Franzosen und Deutsche. Wir sind länger geblieben als geplant, weil wir uns so wohl gefühlt haben und werden sicher wieder kommen.

Travelling party: Single

Ein sehr gepflegter Platz, viele Verbesserungen und Verschönerungen sind in Arbeit, man sieht überall, wie die Besitzer den Platz weiterhin liebevoll verschönern. Erstklassiges Sanitär, ich wurde sehr freundlich empfangen. Ruhige Lage in der Nähe der Strandpromenade (ca 800m). Die direkte Umgebung des Platzes wirkt etwas verwahrlost, aber dafür kann der Platzbetreiber nichts. Insgesamt positiver Eindruck.
