In the impressive nature of the Catalan Pyrenees lies Camping Verneda, a campsite for seekers of peace and quiet and sporty campers. Go rafting or hiking (and skiing in winter) in the mountainous surrounding area or enjoy the tranquillity on the campsite. Camping Verneda is located in Val d’Aran, the northernmost region of Catalonia, in the heart of the Pyrenees. The beautiful area is excellent for challenging hikes and less difficult walks. Especially the National Park Aigüestortes, an hour's drive from the campsite, is a well-known hiking area.

Camping in summer and winter

The campsite is located on the Garona River between wooded mountains, and the campsite itself also has lots of greenery. The camping fields are separated by hedges and a large number of trees provide shade and demarcation.

Apart from camping in a tent, caravan or motorhome (Vernede is also a very convenient campsite for an overnight stop) you can rent wooden cottages and bungalows. Lovely accommodation for the summer, but especially in winter these rental houses have great charm and beauty. They are there for a reason, because Camping Verneda is a fantastic destination for a winter sports holiday in the Pyrenees.

Churches

Not only the nature of Val d'Aran is impressive. The number of churches in the area is also noteworthy. Because of the location of Val d'Aran, encapsulated by mountains, these romanesque churches, like the art in this region, have developed a character of their own. Definitely worth your while to visit a few of these churches in addition to the many hikes you will do.
