Do you like the combination of sea and mountains? If so, Camping Las Hortensias is the place for you. You are staying here on the green coast of Spain, the Costa Verde. The renowned Parque Nacional Picos de Europa is situated in the area. Moreover, the campsite has direct access to a fine sandy beach.

Attractive hydrangeas

You will be staying among an abundance of hydrangeas on the grounds. The pitches are located in long rows on a lawn along paved roads. Some have a sea view and some are partly shaded. Rows of trees, hedges and a few buildings provide shelter against the wind. The camping is surrounded by tree-covered hills. The sanitary facilities on the campsite are new and are cleaned daily.

Beautiful sandy beach

It takes less than a minute to walk to the beautiful and sheltered sandy beach, bordering the campsite. For children (possibly for adults, too) this is one big play paradise. The considerable tidal difference will allow you to amble between the rocks, where there are lovely little water pools for children. There is also a great eating establishment at the beach. From here you have a superb sea view. Over weekends, many Spanish day visitors flock to the bay, but during the week the hotel and camping guests have the place virtually to themselves.

Fun and games

Apart from the beach, children will enjoy the playground and soccer field.

The camping shop has a generous range. Feel like a luxury meal out? The adjacent hotel offers a good daily menu at discounted prices to camping guests.

"Family campsite by the sandy beach of the Cantabrian coast. A safe and exciting beach during low tide, with inlets filled with fish. Perfect for young children. Campsite guests receive a 10% discount at the hotel restaurant. A 10% discount in June and September. Excellent toilet block."

Liked - Lovely location. Staff helpful. Especially when I couldn’t fit my motor home on pitches

Disliked - Electric is only 6 amp. So just be careful

Liked - The site is in a good location and the toilet facilities are plentiful and clean. However the staff are rude and poor at communicating and on this basis I would not recommend the site

Liked - Beautiful spot, good sanitair, enough shadow, nice view
Disliked - A lot of noice, snoring neighbour, fighting neighbour and later a big Spanish family having a party until late
Recommendation: a ping pong table!

Liked - The sanitary was clean as in a showroom. The cleaning staff was around all day in the toilet building. Great job! People at the reception were very kind & helpful.
Disliked - There were to little accommodations and facilities for our teenage kids. Table tennis would be nice.

Liked - Great location; 2min walk to beautiful large soft white sand beach, 4-star hotel across the road and good quality restaurants overlooking the sea. Decent campsites, some shaded by large trees. Electricity and wi-fi available with small shop selling the basics. Very friendly service and always available. Communal sanitary building is modern and excellent condition, spotless due to continuous cleaning by staff.
Disliked - Tennis court condition could be improved, requires new net. Concrete table tennis would be great for older kids in the play area.

Liked - The location is fabulous meaning you can walk to the beach, swim and return to your pitch so easily. There is a great walk in the woods above the campsite and the hotel restaurant with its fantastic views is excellent.
Disliked - We wished that the campsite stayed open for the season until the end of the month as the weather was good, the sea was warm and there still seemed to be many people who would use it.

Disliked - Staff were unhelpful on several occasions especially when my 2pin adaptor went missing from electricity box to which only they had the key! Tried to charge me 20e iris for a replacement, total scam
