In the Portuguese countryside, seven kilometres west of the city of Oliveira do Hospital, lies Quinta do Retiro. From this campsite you have a view of the hilly area. To enjoy the silence, this rural spot with swimming pool and sauna is ideal.

Located in a forest

The beautiful country estate ('quinta' means 'estate' or 'wine estate') is situated at an altitude of 325 meters on the outskirts of the village of Covas. An extremely well-kept terrain where many fruit trees grow. The green pitches are divided over a low terrain and a higher part that looks a bit rougher and offers more sun. For larger caravans a spot at the top is worth considering because of its accessibility.

The nice thing is that the picturesque pitches are not demarcated and that everyone still enjoys peace and privacy. The many trees and shrubs provide a relaxed atmosphere. There is also a small stream running across the campsite.

Ecological swimming pool

At the lowest point of the campsite, an ecological swimming pool has been set up between the greenery. Beautiful flowers, shrubs and stones surround the pool, which is continuously purified. The clean water comes directly from its own source. Pure nature! Those looking for even more relaxation after a few laps can use the sauna.

Bread from the baker

For a supermarket or a nice restaurant are the most possibilities in Oliveira do Hospital. But for fresh bread you don't have to leave the campsite in the morning. Every day the local baker delivers bread on the 'quinta'. On the local market you can do your shopping tasty, cheap and fresh.

Travelling party: Family with children <4 years

Werkelijk prachtige camping; ruime plaatsen, zelf uitzoeken, enthousiaste eigenaren met veel informatie, leuke ontvangst, schoon sanitair met ruime douches. Prachtig park; veel te ontdekken op het park en in de omgeving, sochtends verse broodjes en regelmatig lekkere maaltijden.. zoals altijd: volgende keer langer blijven!

Heerlijke camping met s’morgens verse broodjes.

Liked - Oase van rust in paradijselijke omgeving.. Mooie plekken en heerlijk gegeten op gezamenlijke eetavond.
Disliked - Beetje moeilijk te fietsen en lopen vanaf de camping.

Wat een fijne rustige camping. Geweldige ontvangst en informatie over onze plaats en de voorzieningen op de camping.
De camping is een mooie uitvalbasis voor het maken van een bezoek aan her natuurpark Sierra da Astrela
Sanitair super netjes schoon. De plaatsen zijn vrij te kiezen ruim van opzet.
Er is een gemoedelijke sfeer mede door de campingeigenaren.
Een absolute aanrader. Wel vooraf even bellen omdat de camping vol kan zijn.

Prachtige plekken met vrij uitzicht. Riante doucheruimtes. Vriendelijke ontvangst. Aan alles is gedacht bij de inrichting van de camping.

Heerlijke camping. We stonden op de mooiste en rustigste plaats die er was. Veel schaduw wat heerlijk was bij het warme weer dat we hadden. Plek alleen geschikt voor tenten. En na ons zou er een huurtent komen te staan.

Mooie camping met ruime plaatsen zonder vaste indeling. Overal een geweldig uitzicht op de prachtige natuur. Wij waren er begin mei: veel heesters, vooral brem, in bloei, wat een schoonheid! Het sanitair is buitengewoon: ruime familiedouches met alles erop en eraan. Een aanrader, deze camping!

De camping ligt in een prachtig heuvelachtig landschap waardoor de staanplaatsen zeer divers zijn qua ligging en begroeiing. De eigenaren Marga en Jurrie zijn ontzettend gastvrij en behulpzaam. De sfeer is er relaxed. De voorzieningen zoals het zwembad zonder chloor, het schone sanitair en de speeltuin zijn mooi en natuurlijk van opzet. Verder viel het ons op dat het A4-tje met informatie over de camping dat wij bij aankomst kregen, nauwelijks of geen verboden bevat, maar veel meer een beroep doet op de verantwoordelijkheid van de kampeerders. Hulde!
Dat deze camping gewaardeerd wordt, blijkt wel uit het feit dat in april toen wij er waren er al een behoorlijke bezetting was met kampeerders uit allerhande landen.
Bij de staanplaatsen is 10 of 16 ampère stroom voorhanden.

Wat een fijne plek zeg, echt een natuurcamping.
Ruimte, rust, kleinschalig, goed en zeer schoon sanitair, ruime plaatsen, eigen bronwater, elke ochtend verse broodjes van de lokale bakker, aardige mensen hoor.
Wij komen terug!!
