Converted Norwegian farmstead
The campsite is situated on the grounds of a former farmstead. The red cabins (summer homes) fit perfectly into the fjord landscape. The campsite is well-organised, and everything works as it should. The pitches are spacious and many pitches have views of the lake in which the mountaintops are reflected. There are also cabins available for rent (renovated in 2017). The campsite is suitable for all ages: both young and old are well catered for. Despite the many facilities catering to children, the campsite is, for the most part, peaceful and quiet.
Pets are allowed for campers with their own camping equipment but are not allowed in the cabins for hygiene reasons.
Canoeing, fishing and barbecuing
The campsite is situated directly on the edge of the lake, and there's all sorts of water equipment available, which can be used for free. You can also make free use of the picnic tables and barbecue areas. There is a large campfire by the lake where guests can cook or relax. You can go fishing in the lake for trout and eels. Equipment can be bought at the reception. A playing area of 600 m2 has recently been added. Children can play to their heart's content on the water trampoline or in the canoes and rowing boats, and on the water bikes and surfboards.
Well-maintained
There is a shop with a limited range of groceries. You can order fresh bread and rolls every morning. The sanitary facilities are new, clean and well-maintained. There are no computers available at the reception, but the entire campsite has access to a high-speed WiFi connection.
Glaciers and fjords
The prime attraction of this campsite is its magnificent location in the midst of the Norwegian fjord landscape. It is also an excellent starting point from which to explore the Kjenndalen and Briksdal glaciers. The campsite is just a 10 to 15-minute drive from Via Ferrate Loen, a wonderful place to go climbing. The spectacular Skylift is also nearby. Guests interested in guided tours or other activities can request more information at the reception.
