Not far from Leek, on the border between Groningen and Friesland is the Nienoord estate campsite. Also on the estate you'll find the National Carriage Museum. It's fun to take a ride on the miniature train. The campsite has a beautiful water park and is particularly suitable for families with children.

Varied campsite
The reception is housed in a former farmhouse, located at the entrance to the camping grounds. The campsite is very spaciously laid out and makes a particularly good first impression. The individual pitches are spacious but the sizes differ. This contributes to the impression you get from the diverse surroundings.
A wealth of rental accommodations
Most guests come with their own tent, caravan or camper, but there also all kinds of different rental accommodations. The modern hiking cabins for up to four people are popular. What could be more fun than the Coco Sweets (half tent, half cabin), also perfect for up to four people.
Popular pancake restaurant
By the entrance next to the reception you'll find the pancake restaurant with an extensive menu and a large terrace. The flour and milk for the pancakes come fresh from the region. There are play facilities for the children both inside and outside the campsite.
Nature scavenger hikes and steam trains
There's plenty to do on the estate itself. For instance, you could go on a nature scavenger hike. The children can also play in the large playground and swim in the water park. A special treat are the numerous model railways you can find both on the estate and nearby. Some are too small to board, but there is one steam train (1:8 scale) on which you can take a little ride.
