Between the villages of Opheusden and Kesteren, centrally located in the Betuwe, lies Recreatiepark De Markplas. This playfully designed holiday park is surrounded by lush greenery, including several old fruit trees, characteristic of the Betuwe region. More than a third of the park consists of water, offering plenty of opportunities for swimming, boating, and fishing. Also good to know: this campsite observes the tradition of Sunday rest, meaning arrivals and departures are not possible on Sundays.

Spacious Camping Plots and Luxury Accommodations

This well-maintained recreational park features paved paths leading to the accommodations and spacious camping plots. The pitches are flat and have a grassy surface, with a paved area beside them to park your caravan or motorhome. You can also book a pitch with private sanitation. Prefer to stay in an accommodation? Choose from a luxury holiday home or safari tent (for two to eight people).

Swim in the Lake or Book an Alpaca Walk

Life on this campsite mainly revolves around the recreational lake. You can enjoy boating, stand-up paddleboarding, and fishing here year-round. On summer days, it's a great spot to take a refreshing swim. Looking for a special outing? Go for a walk with one of the alpacas that live on the campsite. Want to end your day with a nice meal? Just a five-minute walk away, you'll find Molen De Zwaluw, a modern restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious dinner.
