Fancy camping in a beautiful, quiet area with sweeping views of the Frisian countryside? Swichumer Pleats is a small-scale campsite in the heart of Friesland. You can take beautiful hiking and cycling trips in the area. If you fancy something a little more lively, you can easily bike to cosy Leeuwarden (4 km). The spacious grounds feature a playground with plenty of play equipment for children. The campsite does not have many facilities, but there are plenty of fun things to do in the area. For example, spend a day at the AquaZoo in Leeuwarden or cycle the Elfstedentocht route.

Farm campsite with expansive views

Swichumer Pleats is built around a farm, which is no longer in use. You'll be camping on a flat grass field. The campsite is spacious and because there is little vegetation you have a beautiful view over the meadows. The campsite has 25 spacious touring pitches with electricity connections. There are also two safari tents: one for four people and one for six people.

The campsite features two neat, modern sanitary buildings offering you plenty of privacy. Each shower facility has its own mirror with sink. The sanitary facilities are clean and well maintained.

Playground and bread service

When you come to Swichumer Pleats, you're mainly coming for the peace and quiet and to enjoy the Frisian countryside. There is therefore no entertainment programme or swimming pool. For children there's a playground with, among other things, a double swing, slide, sandpit, playhouse and table tennis table.

Travelling party: Couple

Camping met ruime plaatsen en een wijds uitzicht. Het sanitair is schoon en netjes. Vriendelijke beheerders die ons informeerden over de camping en de omgeving.
Kortom: wij kijken met plezier terug op een paar mooie dagen op deze camping.

Vier dagen op deze mooie camping gestaan. Mooie grote plaatsen. De afstand tussen de plaatsen is minimaal 5 meter. Er zijn maar 2 douches en 2 toiletten. Toch hebben wij nooit hoeven wachten. De eigenaren zijn erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
Voor kinderen ruim voldoende speelruimte. De camping ligt mooi centraal in de provincie en vlak onder Leeuwarden.

We hebben hier een maand gestaan en hebben genoten van de weidse uitzichten en de wolken die er iedere dag waren
Mooie ruime plaatsen
Alles netjes onderhouden
Klein toiletgebouw maar alles wat je nodig hebt is er ook in deze coronatijd
We hebben vanaf de camping mooie fietstochten gemaakt

Wij zijn 14 dagen op deze camping geweest en vonden het prima.
Vlakbij de stad en prima plek om andere plaatsen te bezoeken hetzij per auto of op de fiets.
