On the water
At the campsite, there's water almost everywhere: the Princess Margaret canal streams alongside the campsite, and traverses the Bergumer Lake there. In the southern part of the campsite, you'll find a large pond. Many of the pitches and the rental accommodation options are located on the water. The holiday villas - including villas for people with disabilities - are located right on the canal, while from the terrace of the beach lodges, you can see the whole Bergumer Lake. You'll also find comfortable bungalows right on the water. The campsite has its own beach, where you can take a dip in the lake. There are also plenty of opportunities for watersports. Various boats are available to hire, from motorboats to canoes to Skûtsjes (traditional Frisian sailing boats) so you can easily navigate the huge lake. Not quite such an experienced captain? Bergumermeer Holiday Park has its own sailing school, so you can learn. You can even go fishing. In particular, the Princess Margriet canal is a great place for pike and carp fishing.
