Camping De 4 Elementen is a small campsite in the north of the Netherlands, on the border of Friesland and Groningen. Here you will camp directly on the water of the Prinses Margrietkanaal and you have access to a small harbour with moorings for boats. The campsite is part of a care institution that offers assisted living programmes. The residents of this care institution work in the campsite's shop and restaurant.

Camping pitch by the water

The campsite, which stretches across the rear part of the long peninsula, is particularly well looked after. Twenty-five narrow, but spacious touring pitches lie directly on the canal and offer beautiful views across the flat Frisian landscape. Paved roads take you to your camping spot, situated on a tight grass field in the shade of some trees.

For fishermen and people looking for peace and quiet

The campsite has good fishing spots where you can fish for hours on end. Due to its small size and remote location, the campsite is very suitable for campers looking for peace and quiet. In high and low season, the campsite is mainly occupied by senior citizens.

Your own boat

If you have your own boat, you can moor it at one of the jetties of the campsite. This way the campsite can serve as a short or long stopover during your boat trip through Friesland and Groningen. The Prinses Margrietkanaal starts at Lemmer, one of Friesland's most famous water sports centres, located directly on the IJsselmeer. At the border with Groningen, exactly where the campsite is located, the canal changes into the Van Starkenborghkanaal, which runs all the way to the provincial capital Groningen.

Liked - Ein sehr ruhiger Campingplatz.
Direkt am Kanal und Natur pur.
Schafe weiden auf den Wiesen, Vögel sind im Wettkampf um den besten Platz.
Angeln pur und einfach nur Ruhe.
Recht abgelegen und am Anfang nicht einfach zu finden,aber um so besser.
Die Mitarbeiter sind immer am Schaffen und schimpfen schon mal mit den Hühnern.

Liked - Sauber und ruhig, direkt am Kanal ideal zum Angeln und erholen. Es ist etwas eng beim Anfahren des Stellplatzes, aber dafür direkt am Wasser. Das Fahrzeug muss schon sehr nahe an den Graben, damit alle anderen auch vorbei kommen. Das ist aber zu akzeptieren, denn alle wollen nur Erholung.
Disliked - Leider war die Beleuchtung entlang des Stellplatzes und der Holzbrücke defekt. Bitte reparieren lassen. Die Duschen sind leider auch nicht 100 Punkte, aber nutzbar.

Liked - Unser Aufenthalt war eigentlich die Landschaft mit dem Fahrrad zu erkunden. Als wir auf den Stellplatz ankamen der direkt am Wasser lag, hatten wir ein Problem, da der Platz (Wiese) durch den Regen so durchnässt war, kamen wir mit unserem WoMo nicht mehr vor und zurück. Die Räder drehten durch .Wir haben uns festgefahren und kamen nur durch die Mithilfe eines Mitarbeiters wieder von der Wiese weg. ( dabei habe ich mir mein Auspuffrohr abgerissen). Man hat uns dann einen Platz auf festen Boden zugewiesen,. Bei schönem Wetter ist der Platz am Wasser sehr schön. Man kann Schiffe beobachten
Disliked - Der Stellplatz direkt am Wasser, sollte vielleicht nicht ganz aus Wiese bestehen. Für die Fahrspur, sollte man vielleicht ein paar Rasengitter -Steine hinlegen, damit man auch bei durchnässter Wiese auch dort stehen könnte. Bei schönem ist das kein Problem
