Camping island by the water
Campsite De Kleine Wielen is situated in nature and recreational park 'de Groene Ster', approximately 7.5 km from Leeuwarden. The campsite's proximity to both the city and nature make this a unique location. The campsite can easily be reached via the N355, after which you drive past the bungalows to the campsite area. The camping pitches are located on a separate island with plenty of green and an open view of the water.
Green surroundings with plenty of water fun
At the campsite, the children can have plenty of fun in the paddling pools by the water. There is play equipment on the small sandy beach and the children can paddle in the water. There are several playing fields dotted around the campsite, as well as a sports field and a giant air pillow. In July and August, the entertainment team organises various activities for the children.
There is also plenty to do in the area surrounding the campsite. The campsite's location on the inland lake 'Lytse Wielen' offers opportunities for boating, canoeing, carp fishing and windsurfing. The wooded landscape also provides ample options for hiking and cycling trips. There are many cycling and hiking trails around the campsite which take you to the most beautiful spots in Leeuwarden.
