Sail on Frisian waters during the day and then camp by the open waterway or by the impressive marina. This idyllic picture is a reality at Camping Drijfveer near Akkrum (in central Friesland). This is a campsite where it's all about water sports. The campsite has been built around Jachthaven Tusken de Marren (marina), as it were. You have views of the water and the passing boats from everywhere. There are several types of boats for hire, but you can also take your own boat.

Neat camping and motorhome pitches, many right by the water

This campsite has various neat fields with well-maintained camping pitches. Some of the touring pitches are right by the water. For large groups, there is a separate camping field with picnic benches and tables, among others.

Furthermore, Camping Drijfveer has 16 paved camping pitches.

Entertainment in the summer holiday: what is there to do?

Camping Drijfveer maybe popular with campers who enjoy boating, but there is also plenty to do at the campsite itself. There is a lovely playground with climbing equipment, a slide, swing, sand pit and horizontal bar. Furthermore, Camping Drijfveer offers plenty of entertainment in the high season. The youngest campers can search for treasure, do crafts, sing, play music and enjoy themselves by the campfire, for example.

Travelling party: Seniors

Liked - Electric connections are old and it looked more like a professional enterprise than a leisure one. Reception was frosty.

Travelling party: Young couple

Liked - Unusual campsite next to the canals made for a fantastic holiday. Beautiful clean amenities, very pleasant staff and a very picturesque location. Great bar staff, lovely meals. Pitch was a little tight for a twin axle long caravan but we made it work and we’d visit again for sure. Very friendly people many of whom return year on year.
