The Exloo campsite is located in Geopark De Hondsrug (Drenthe) and is situated on a large grassy field, where you can find an excellent location to set up shop with your camping equipment. There is a separate car park for vehicles, which ensures that the campsite is very peaceful and makes it a touch safer as well. In the surrounding area, you will find many traces of prehistory, from dolmens to burial hills.

The reception area has extensive tourist information available about the area. Each morning, you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea in the cafeteria. When the weather is pleasant, you take it outside with you and sip away under an umbrella. The campsite consists of a well-maintained field with a paved central path, which leads to a meadow with sheep at the end of the campsite. The camping area is surrounded by trees and shrubs. The campsite is open all year round. However, in the winter months only for campers with their own facilities. The sanitary building is closed during these months.
Having fun together
There are evenings in which the owners and guests take part in a friendly petanque tournament.
There is no swimming pool on the campsite, but fortunately, Exloo boasts the gorgeous, outdoor swimming pool De Leewal. This pool is just four kilometres from the campsite. The campsite attracts a wide variety of people, primarily from the Netherlands and Germany.

Most visitors to the campsite are the types who enjoy getting out into nature. This is an area where they can really indulge themselves. De Hondsrug not only features prehistoric monuments, but it also boasts a diverse landscape with a wide variety of equally diverse flora and fauna.
