De Hondsrug in Drenthe is the only geopark in the Netherlands. Halfway up this ridge lies the village of Borger, home to Vakantiepark Hunzedal and to one of the most beautiful megaliths in Drenthe. Together with the Hunebedcentrum, it is a favourite attraction. It is only a few minutes away from the campsite by car. The surrounding area also offers walking and cycling opportunities through extensive natural landscapes. The holiday park itself has fun activities for young and old.

A selection from the options for accommodations
As you would expect from a holiday park, at Hunzedal you can choose from various luxury accommodations. For example, choose to stay in a safari tent, a modern mobile home or a luxury holiday home. If you prefer to camp, these neatly kept grounds accommodate a few hundred spacious pitches and a series of motorhome pitches.
What entertainment does this holiday park offer?
At Hunzedal you can have fun in all weather conditions. The beautiful swimming pool complex is open the entire season. The indoor section guarantees water fun, including a basic swimming pool (25 metres long!), a whimsically shaped recreational pool, two wading pools, rapids and a spectacular water slide. If the weather is nice, you can swim from the indoor pool to the outdoor swimming pool.
During Dutch school holidays, the park is especially attractive to children because of the entertainment. The programme includes crafting, dancing together, reading stories aloud, climbing, archery and laser gaming. Koos the mascot is a main figure in the children’s entertainment. The grounds also house a supermarket, restaurant, snack bar and cafe.
