Campsite Barco Reale is a stone's throw away from the village of San Baronto, in Northern Tuscany. Pistoia, acclaimed cultural capital of Italy in 2017, is also in the vicinity of this campsite. Pine trees and oaks provide a lot of shade. As a result the pitches have ample privacy. The region is verdant and hilly and the nearby villages are all full of charm. There is plenty to do on the campsite. Highlights are the swimming pool (with a view of the extensive valley) and the restaurant.

Camping and renting

The campsite is located on a hilly piece of land, but everything is well organised and practically laid out. You can bring you own camping equipment or rent one of the forty campsite's accommodation units. For instance, you can opt for a fully equipped mobile home, bungalow tent or luxury glamping tent.

Entertainment for the whole family

At campsite Barco Reale an enthusiastic entertainment team offers a varied programme in high season. The evening performances are recommended for the entire family, as are the other musical and cultural activities. Sports can be played on various fields and small children are certain to enjoy the playground.

There are also ample excursions on offer in the beautiful region. For instance, guided walking tours to a local olive mill or bus tours to Florence. You can also go on lovely walks and cycling trips directly from the campsite.

Dreamlike swimming pools

The three swimming pools are found on the perimeter of the campsite. There is a large shallow pool for children as well as a small pool of approx. one metre deep. The focal point is the enormous (270 m2) pool with a splendid view of the valley with its peaceful Tuscan rural life.

Travelling party: Seniors

Very clean and tidy campsite. We stayed in May when it was quiet but swimming pool was open-a swimming hat is required due to local laws.
Small shop selling handy items along with milk, cold meats cheese and bread- but quite pricy for some items
Campsite restaurant over charged us on the cover charge. Burger was quite nice though.

Travelling party: Couple

The site itself is excellent in many respects. Good points: it has an excellent restaurant, an excellent pool, it\\\'s own gelato bar and the shower block is palatial...alk marle and roses. The trouble is the site is on a hill so the showers will require a stiff walk up, either to get to or on the way back. The roads around the site are narrow and steep. Some pitches have stunning views over Tuscany, others suffer from the hillside blocking the view or airflow when hot...so pick your pitch with care.
