Camping Delfino is situated in the Liguria region on the Italian Riviera, the piece of coast from the French border to Tuscany. The camping grounds, located between the motorway and railway line (but also directly by the sea) are covered with shade cloths. You camp here on rather tight but cool camping pitches between vines and under shade cloths.

Camping in the shade
You will notice immediately that the pitches are rather small: they stand close together in rows. If this does not appeal to you, you can opt to stay in one of the mobile homes, located on a separate section of the grounds. This is not exactly the quietest campsite in the country. The nearby motorway and railway line are quite noisy. This campsite is not recommended if you are a light sleeper.
Superb view
The Mediterranean Sea is a five minute walk away. The beach here is is not particularly wide and consists mainly of pebbles. However, the view is spectacular. Overlooking the sea you can see the wooded island of Gallinara. Inland, the landscape is determined by high mountains. The coast south of the campsite is recommended if you are looking for a more attractive beach.
Dolphin and whale watching
Near the campsite you can get onto the Mediterranean Sea by boat for a wonderful experience. If you sail away from the coast a bit, chances are you will encounter whales or dolphins. Granted: it takes a bit of luck, but if you spot such a mighty whale or a school of playful dolphins, you will be richer for the experience.
