Camping Village Roma Capitol is located between Ostia and Rome, in a quiet wooded area. This large campsite is laid out in a scenic area with tall pine trees. There are all kinds of sports facilities and beautiful swimming pools. With the excavations of Ostia Antica within walking distance and Rome close by this campsite is an excellent starting point to get acquainted with Roman culture.

Extensive campsite

On the vast campsite, the pitches are arranged in rows along the straight paths. There is a separate area reserved for campers with dogs. The seven hundred touring pitches are numbered but not separated from each other. When busy you have little privacy on your spot.

Luxury swimming pools

There are three heated outdoor pools on the campsite: a competition pool, a shallow recreational pool and a paddling pool. The pools are stylishly laid out on a sun deck, from where you have a beautiful view of the surrounding pine trees. The complex gives a luxurious impression and has not been made especially attractive for children. There are no play equipment or slides.

Open for a limited time

Camping Village Roma Capitol has beautiful sports facilities, but there is not much else to do. There is no entertainment or excursion programme. The campsite has a supermarket, a pizzeria and an attractive bar. Whether these facilities are open depends on the number of guests at the campsite. In low season most facilities are closed anyway. This also applies to the sanitary facilities, which are brand new and very luxurious. There are ten toilet blocks, in low season often only one is open.

Travelling party: Seniors

Liked - Wir standen in malerischer Kulisse im Grünen mit Blick auf Wiesen und Bäume. Die Sanitäranlagen sind spitze, ebenso das Restaurant und der kleine Laden! Die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Disliked - Wir fühlten uns durch die permanenten Mäharbeiten - sogar samstags und sonntags - sehr gestört! Es würde reichen, wenn man von Montag bis Freitag die Rasenflächen mähen würde. Der Shuttle zum Bahnhof sollte häufiger fahren, d.h. den ganzen Tag über (ab 7.00 bis 23 Uhr), denn der Fußweg zum nächsten Bahnhof beträgt 30 Minuten. Am besten wäre es, wenn sich die Campingplatzbetreiber darum bemühen würden, den Platz an eine öffentliche Buslinie anbinden zu lassen! Bei teilweise viel kleineren Plätzen ist dies der Fall.

Bei ACSI Card Geld p.P. und Tag extra. Das finden wir schon ausverschämt. Wir waren mehrere Wochen mit dem Wohnmobil in Italien unterwegs, kein anderer Campingplatz hat diesen Energiezuschlag bei der ACSI CARD erhoben. Wenn Aufschläge der Campingplätze von ACSI akzepiert werden, sollten diese begrenzt sein!
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, Sie können leider nichts für die Gegebenheiten.
Der Platz selber ist sehr groß, allerdings waren in der Nebensaison nur die hintersten Plätze freigegeben!! Das hatte den Nachteil das es sehr weit zum Restaurant und Shop war, würde man sich eine Pizza zum mitnehmen holen, wäre die bei erreichen des Platzes kalt. Es würde schon die Möglichkeit geben andere Bereiche die nicht in der letzten Ecke sind frei zu geben, Sanitäranlagen gibt es einige auf dem Platz, es war nur die im Bereich der Camper geöffnet, was ja o.k. ist, allerdings wäre das bei anderen auch möglich gewesen, zumal man zum entleeren der Toilette eh zu einem anderen Sanitärgebäude gehen mußte. Das geöffnete war schon sehr gut ausgestattet, nur Einzelkabinen, was sehr angenehm war.
Das Restaurant/Pizzeria ist ganz o.k., das Personal sehr nett und freundlich, die Preise für eine Pizza sind im normalen Bereich. Die Pizza selbst ist größtenteils auch o.k., allerdings ist die Calzone sehr einfach, nur Käse und Kochschinken, keine Tomatensauce o.a.! Die Getränke dort sind schon recht teuer.

Der Platz ist relativ neu. Ende April war nur ein Teil des Platzes offen, Restaurant und Minimarkt hatten geöffnet. Die Sanitäranlagen sind sehr gut, eine Einheit besteht immer aus Toilette, Waschbecken und Dusche. Vieles war noch in Vorbereitung, die Schmimmbäder noch nicht offen. Mit dem kostenpflichtigen Shuttle kommt man zu einem Bahnhof, von dort nach Rom. Zum ACSI Preis kommen noch Nebenkosten hinzu, die sich uns nicht ganz erschlossen haben. Insgesamt ein sehr guter Campingplatz, den wir auch wieder besuchen würden.
