Camping in the countryside
At Camping Am Waldbad you camp on a pitch that is demarcated with hedges. There are special fields for tent campsite visitors and for caravans and motorhomes. Dog lovers love it here because their faithful four-footed friend is also welcome. The campsite is situated on the edge of the woods, allowing you to take the most beautiful walks straight from your camping pitch.
Hiking, castle ruins and exhibitions
Exploring the beautiful countryside in the immediate vicinity of the campsite on foot is an excellent idea because there are plenty of hiking paths. The Hohnstein castle ruins are within walking distance and well worth the trouble of visiting. The tower ruins give an excellent view, and you can enjoy a drink or bite to eat at the adjacent restaurant with terrace. The city of Nordhausen (12 km) is great for a day out. Wander through the city centre, go to the Harz Railway with its steam trains or to the Meyenburg Art House, where changing exhibitions can be seen.
