For touring campers
The campsite consists of level grassy fields along straight cul-de-sacs. To compensate for the difference in height of the slightly sloping landscape, some terraces have been laid out. Standing between the camping pitches are deciduous trees and tall hedges, although the vegetation offers little shade in summer. The campsite is neatly laid out and is well maintained. It consists mainly of touring pitches, but there are 25 permanent pitches as well. In addition, there are two mobile homes and one trekker hut available for rent.
Petting zoo
Gern-Campinghof Salem is a true family campsite. It is especially popular with families during the peak season. In low season it is mostly frequented by senior citizens. There is lots to do for small children. In addition to an outdoor playground, there is an indoor playground and a recreation area. However, the most popular attraction of this campsite is the animal enclosure with ponies, horses, rabbits, goats and chickens.
The most beautiful lake
At a distance of some eight hundred metres from the campsite lies the Schloßsee, a beautiful lake which is great for swimming. A ten minute walk through the fields will get you there. The water is clear and always a few degrees warmer than Lake Constance. Swim to Robinson island, or walk there by crossing the bridge. There are clean pebble beaches (bring your aqua shoes!) and beautiful lawns with ample shade.
