On the outskirts of Lyon, in the village of Dardilly, you’ll find Camping de Lyon. This city campsite is an excellent base from which to visit the historic centre of Lyon. Because of its location, close to the motorway, you can also use the campsite for a stopover during a journey to the south of France, Spain or Italy.

Park-like campsite
The campsite of Camping de Lyon has a park-like appearance. You camp in green surroundings under tall trees. However, the maintenance of the greenery leaves something to be desired: the trees could use some pruning and the lawns/pitches could be mowed more often. However, you will be nicely sheltered under the trees, which not only provide shady and cool spots, but also stop most of the noise from the nearby motorway. The pitches are not particularly spacious, but an average caravan and motorhome will do just fine.
Campers stopping over and city visitors
Campers stopping over will find Camping de Lyon a great place to rest for a night on their journey to or from southern Europe. And then they could stick another day and night to their stay to visit Lyon. For a longer camping holiday of one or two weeks, the campsite is less suitable.
Spacious swimming pool
After a day of wandering around Lyon, a refreshing dip in the pool might be nice. The swimming pool at the campsite is nice and spacious, so you can swim a few lengths. Next to it a paddling pool and around the pool there is plenty of space to sunbathe.
