In the rugged nature of the French High Alps, in the Rhône-Alpes region, lies Camping Sites & Paysages à la Rencontre du Soleil (in short: A la Rencontre du Soleil). You camp here at the foot of the Alpe d’Huez, known from the Tour de France. The area is an excellent destination for seekers of peace and quiet, nature lovers, cyclists and mountain hikers. The campsite has a restaurant (with terrace), bar and shop.

Camping on flowery grounds

The well maintained, cheerful looking campsite with its numerous flowers, offers spacious pitches on grass. A small river, in which you can paddle, flows along the campsite. Demarcated with high hedges, bushes and tall, deciduous trees and conifers, most pitches offer ample shade and privacy.

Swimming with a view

The oval swimming pool of Camping A la Rencontre du Soleil has a sliding roof and offers a splendid view of the surrounding mountains. The pool is beautifully designed, well maintained and has a depth of approx. 90-120 cm. You will find a few loungers on the decorated tiles around the swimming pool, so bring your book or e-reader!

Entertainment for all

Children can keep themselves busy on a small playground, multi-sports terrain, tennis court or on the large playing field. A rainy day? Off with the children to the bad weather facility or the kids club (in high season). In the evenings there are regular performances and music shows. The campsite also organises excursions.

Bites and drinks

In the summer season the bar and the restaurant (with full menu) are operational. The catering facility looks well maintained and is attractively furnished including some sofas.

Liked - Lovely site. We'll maintained and all facilities perfect. The owner was very helpful when I had a problem with the caravan. Walking distance to the town which is lovely. Would definitely return.

Liked - Stellplätze groß genug, kleines Schwimmbad am Platz, guter Ausgangspunkt für Radtouren
Disliked - Stellplätze teilweise sehr nass, Sanitäranlagen zwar sauber aber doch sehr in die Jahre gekommen, nur kaltes Wasser zum abspülen

Liked - Location is brilliant for cycling and access to the mountains and town, it is very clean and well looked after, lovely pitch, pool was great as well. We will definitely be back again.

Liked - For a cyclist this is a great site, at the foot of Alpe d'Huez. The facilities were excellent and the restaurant is good.
