In the south of the Ardèche, along the banks of a small river, you’ll find camping Le Chassezac. This quiet campsite has a friendly French atmosphere. The wooded campsite has a Provençal look. In summer this is a real family campsite, with lots of entertainment for children. Ruoms is a charming place.

Wooded bank

The campsite is quietly situated between the vineyards along the river. On the wooded campsite you will find shady pitches on straight, unpaved paths. The campsite has mainly touring pitches, but also twenty permanent pitches and as many rental units, which are located in a separate part of the campsite. The most beautiful pitches are on the edge of the campsite, overlooking the surrounding vineyards.

River with pebble beach

Camping Le Chassezac is situated directly on the river of the same name. Within a few minutes you are on the pebble beach by the water. Because the river is fed by a spring, the river is never dry. Children can paddle in the shallow area, play in the water and make dams. You can even go horseback riding in the river. If the water is too cold for the little ones, they can also swim in the heated outdoor swimming pool on the campsite.

Entertainment for the whole family

There is plenty to do on the campsite. Of course, the river is an endless source of entertainment, but also all kinds of activities are organised. In high season there is entertainment for the whole family and guided hikes are organised. Especially for children there is a lot of entertainment. Adults can enjoy wellness and massages in the beauty centre.

Travelling party: Family with children <4 years

In het hoogseizoen bezocht met onze twee kinderen. Dik twee weken gestaan. In deze tijd een echte familiecamping, met veel andere kinderen. Centraal gelegen, vlakbij Ruoms, Vogue, Balazuc, Vallon Pont d'Arc, grotte Chauvet, etc. Hierdoor wel ook regelmatig in de file als je bijv. Naar de supermarkt moet. Diverse grote supermarkten dicht in de buurt. Mooi aan de rivier, met zowel diep - als ondiep water en stroomversnellingen. Elke morgen goed brood en goede afhaal faciliteiten.

Toiletgebouw is redelijk modern, maar in de tijd dat wij er waren ronduit smerig. Regelmatig wachtrijen bij de douches en toiletten. Zwembad is leuk, zeker met de glijbanen, wel redelijk vies, met behoorlijk wat rommel wat rond drijft in het water. Waaronder veel haren. Tot laat veel geluid op de camping, vanaf circa middernacht begint het iets stiller te worden.
Zeer ruime campingplaatsen, met veel schaduw, niet afgebakend. Om op de camping te komen moet je met een caravan een vervelende draai maken en hierna door een erg smal laantje rijden met aan twee kanten bebossing/heggen. Kans op schade (krassen in caravan ramen) is hier redelijk groot. Op diverse plekken was tijdens ons verblijf cannabis lucht/rook te ruiken. Dit vonden wij hinderlijk met jonge kinderen.
