Camping Les Plages de l’Ain is beautifully situated in a wooded area, some 30 km from Lyon. The campsite lies on the banks of the river l’Ain, a location guaranteed to offer children hours of fun. The campsite is a good base for walking and cycling trips or excursions in the area, such as Lyon or the medieval town of Pérouges.

Shaded or sun-drenched

The campsite makes a well maintained impression with spacious, level camping pitches on a grass surface and neat sanitary facilities. Some pitches are demarcated with greenery. Numerous trees ensure shaded pitches, but for sun lovers there are also sunny sites. The sizes of the pitches are not all the same. The pitches for tents are slightly smaller. Scattered over the grounds are mobile homes. bungalow tents and cheerful Coco tents.

Building dams in the river

Children are sure to enjoy themselves on this friendly campsite. They can indulge themselves in the playground, swim in the two small swimming pools or build dams in the river l'Ain, which can be reached via a direct access from the campsite. Fishing is allowed in the river and in high season canoeing and kayaking trips are organised.

Morning exercises and outdoor laser game

The swimming pool is in a sunny location. In the summer months you can start the day with sporty morning exercises. There is an outdoor laser game for aficionados. In high season you can enjoy regional dishes in the restaurant (limited menu). The friendly owner regularly organises activities during the months of July and August, such as a concert or barbecue.

Liked - The welcome from Jean-Luc & his team is very friendly - this continues with all of the staff. The pitches are large with plenty of shade available - the electrics are good & wi-fi is available. The whole place is very clean & tidy - the showers are very good. This is a children’s paradise with swimming pools, a children’s play park, football & boules pitches plus the most important play area - THE RIVER L’AIN which is at the side of the site just past the ponies, goats, chickens & ducks. There is a huge field between the site & the river which is good for dog walking, Restaurant food is good.
Disliked - Can’t think of any improvements - we love the friendly relaxed atmosphere - it’s a quiet site at night with good security. Reception is open all day from 10am where they are always ready to help with anything

Liked - The friendly efficient welcome - beautiful setting next to the river L’Ain - huge dog exercise field = spacious pitches with plenty of shade - good pools - good electrics & wifi - peaceful & relaxing, wonderful for families - very clean shower & toilet block

Liked - Spacious pitch with shade. Quiet when we were there after finding much busier sites nearer the Rhône. Staff friendly & helpful.
Disliked - Vidour old & needs renovation. Nantes is our standard (ask them about their excellent facilities). Need flexible 5m waste pipe to drop waste water (but not difficult when equipped with one - we were).

Our 3rd time at this brilliant site - very friendly welcome on arrival - well run reception with lots of information available - spacious pitch with shade - 10amp electrics & good wi-fi available. Can’t comment on food & drink yet as the bar & restaurant are not open yet but if the standard is the same as last year we will be very happy. Very clean modern toilets & showers. The pools are good & the beach on the river is great - the river is clean, we swim in it every day.
