At the foot of the Columbier mountain, within walking distance of the village of Artemare, lies the small and friendly campsite Le Vaugrais. The site is quietly situated in a beautiful, green mountainous area with picturesque villages and green pastures.

The pitches, on a lawn and demarcated with greenery, are level, spacious and in a sunny position. On top of it, you will find an abundance of flowers on this friendly, well maintained campsite.

Table tennis and swimming pool

There is some playground equipment for children as well as a table tennis table. Near the swimming pool (70 m2), heated in peak season, you will find a few loungers. A small river flows past the campsite, ideal for children to play in. In the surrounding area you can also follow the signposted, beautiful walking and cycling routes. You can rent bicycles and mountain bikes at the reception.

Daily fresh bread

There is no shop on the campsite, although fresh bread can be ordered on a daily basis. You can do your shopping at the supermarket in Artemare. In peak season camping guests can order a bite to eat from the snack bar. Take-away meals are also offered.

Peaceful environment

In the area you can enjoy the mountains, beautiful landscapes and waterfalls. At the foot of the campsite you will find the 64 m high Cerveyrieu waterfall. Experienced cyclists like to climb the Col du Grand Colombier (1,700 m), one of the most challenging mountain passes in the country. The Lac du Bourget, the largest natural ice lake in the country, is located on the top. This blue-coloured lake contrasts beautifully with the extraordinarily green landscape. Beautiful pictures guaranteed!

Travelling party: Couple

Lovely campsite, large pitches, great little snack bar but need to book. Very clean site. Owners are lovely people. A tad expensive but worth it compared to some others we encountered.
