Welcome!
You will find the campsite just south of Veynes. Drive over the undulating surface of the D994 and you will come across a campsite sign. The campsite has touring pitches and rents new chalets. With such a chalet, you get the luxury of your own barbecue and a private hot tub. The general toilet and washing facilities are also luxurious and well-maintained, and environmentally friendly, with solar panels.
Walking and swimming
Dutch families are in the majority at Les Rives du Lac. Day trips are organised from the campsite: a guide will tell you all about the flora and fauna in the mountains. The part of the recreational lake, where the campsite is situated, is all about swimmers. So you will not encounter any sailing boats in 'your' swimming water. In less favourable weather, you can go the campsite's indoor swimming pool. It's not massive but it is lovely swimming in the heated water.
Veynes and Gap
There are two restaurants by the lake, one belonging to the campsite. For more choice, you can go to the centre of Veynes, which is a five-minute drive. You can take a fun 30-kilometre cycle ride to the lovely town of Gap, with its old cathedral and many shops and restaurants.
