Camping Saint Gabriel, situated in the Provence, is a three star campsite with a difference. The campsite is compact (1.4 ha), with a lovely ambiance and is located in and around an old farmhouse. You camp here in the vicinity of the small town of Tarascon, centrally located for excursions to famous sights. Just think of Arles, Avignon en Saint-Rémy (all inextricably linked with Vincent van Gogh).

Small, but well-tended grounds

The 45 touring pitches of this campsite vary in size (also depending on the season). The pitches are separated by hedges. Don't have your own camping equipment? You can book a mobile home. Please note the opening times of the campsite: from mid March to mid November!

Pleasant swimming

Camping Saint Gabriel is mostly frequented by adults who enjoy nature and the culture in the area. The elegant swimming pool (heated) offers welcome refreshment after a day out in the region. The pool measures 60 m2 and is open from mid April to 1st October. The swimming pool is attractively designed and is surrounded by lots of greenery. Around the pool is a terrace of synthetic turf with a few sun umbrellas and loungers.

Apart from the small toddler pool, there are no special amenities for children. Next to the swimming pool, in the open barn, is some fitness equipment.

Eating and drinking

The bar, shop (fresh rolls available in the mornings) and reception are located in the old farmhouse. There you will also find a nice and affordable restaurant with a terrace in the inner courtyard. The menu is somewhat basic, but all dishes are very tasty. Wine tasting is organised once a week.

Travelling party: Seniors

Liked - St Gabriel is a lovely compact site, a very friendly welcome and within easy reach of Tarascon (car or bike) or St Etienne des Gres 2km walk).
Disliked - Ensure the showers are at least warm.

Liked - Nice campsite with friendly staff. Nice pool area. Good food and plenty of facilities.

The road behind the site is very noisy from 4am onwards which was a total pain and some teenage kids kept dragging sand into the toilets on their feet and left the place a mess.

Liked - The pool, dining area and toilets were good and the meals were good for a campsite restaurant
Disliked - The pitches were quite small and the music in the toilets was irritating. It would be better to have better music or do without it.

Liked - Loved the swimming pool and the reception, restaurant, and bar area.
The site was ideally situated to visit the surrounding towns and villages.
Disliked - Push button showers and and the shower nozzle, may save water, out of the but this makes the shower less than satisfactory

Travelling party: Seniors

Liked - This is a beautiful and well maintained campsite in a great region of France. The pool was a godsend considering how hot and dry the weather was. We had a good pitch with lots of shade in a quiet location. The bar and restaurant is beautiful and the showers and toilets are clean and nicely maintained.
Disliked - People think it is ok to put their towels down on the poolside sun loungers then go away for hours leaving nowhere for others to sit when they visit the pool. At times this is a problem and is quite selfish on the part of those with this sense of entitlement.

Travelling party: Family with children, 12 - 18 years

Liked - Loved the area and the friendliness of the owners. The organized events twice a week were really fun - wish there had been more activities organized throughout the week, not necessarily just for dinner. Wonderful stay overall, and not even a half an hour’s drive from Avignon and Arles.
Disliked - Bathrooms and showers were not clean and there was frequently no toilet paper.

Course it has the best owners, very hospitable, involved with their guests a good central place for trips, very clean, save, as a gast we feel realy welcome, always helpful, good food, great camping place, beautiful environment, authentic building, very nice swimmingpool and lots more!
