Camping Le Puits de l'Auture is located in the town of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer (130 km north of Bordeaux). You are here directly on the seafront with a view of the town's lighthouse. The four stars of the campsite probably need some clarification. They are, for instance, not representative of the amenities on the campsite (there is no swimming pool, no restaurant and no entertainment). Rather, it is the intimate atmosphere, the tranquillity, location on the seafront, attractive flowerbeds and excellent sanitary facilities that make the campsite a top destination.

Beautiful pitches and rental accommodation

The 186 spacious touring pitches of Le Puits de l'Auture are located in near park-like surroundings. You camp here on a well maintained, flat grass surface which is demarcated with hedges, bushes and trees. There are numerous open pitches, but also pitches with ample shade.

The well maintained rental accommodation units (21) consist of trekker huts, bungalows and mobile homes. These are modern, in cheerful colours and have a terrace or veranda in front.

Off to the sea

You can easily reach the beach on foot (Grande Côte). It is only a 200 m walk. In front of the campsite are a few rocks, but further along is a sandy beach. Le Puits de l'Auture does not have a swimming pool, organised entertainment or catering facilities.

Pizzas and barbecue

However, there is a pizza takeaway service, mini camp shop and a field with a few brick barbecues which you can use freely. There are also some handy picnic tables. Restaurants and other eateries are aplenty on the seafront promenade. Shops and a market can be found in Vaux-sur-Mer.

We absolutely loved this campsite. We were staying near to closure for the season but the amenities and staff were 100%. The pitches are spacious and grounds well maintained. Situation perfect. So close to the stunning sea front. Will definitely return.
