Campsite Les Baleines is beautifully situated in a nature reserve with conifers. The campsite is located in the north-west of the Ile de Ré. A 100 m walk will take you to the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged shore. From the friendly terraced campsite you have a splendid view over the bay and Le Phare des Baleines lighthouse. The convivial, busy campsite has a beautiful swimming pool.

Campsite with Ecolabel
Friendly staff members will welcome you at the reception. The touring pitches are separated from the mobile homes. The level campsite pitches with a sand surface are not demarcated and are to be found between conifers.
The campsite is proud to have been awarded an EU Ecolabel. They also motivate campsite guests to use water and electricity sparingly. The campsite shop stocks a range of locally produced groceries, such as jam, butter, coffee, milk and orange juice.
Crabbing between rocks
From the campsite you can follow a sandy path through the forest and over a small dune, to get to the beautiful sandy beach. Parents with strollers can take the Pas de Bœufs. At low tide you will find crabs in the small pools between the rocks. Great excitement for children! There is a playground on the campsite. Children who understand some English (or French) can join the entertainment programme.
Wide choice of sports
The vicinity of the campsite is eminently suitable for various sports. For instance, you can participate in kitesurfing, wind surfing, waterskiing and sailing. On the campsite there is a field for beach volleyball and at the riding school you can do horseback or pony riding.
