Camping Campéole Pontaillac Plage is a beautiful park campsite located about three hundred metres from a lively boulevard and the beach. You are close to the larger town Royan. Here in the Charente-Maritime, maritime life is visible everywhere. Enjoy beaches, bays, picturesque fishing villages, chic seaside resorts, marshlands and oysters!

Renting

You drive to your pitch via well-paved paths. Then the enjoyment can really begin. The campsite has various types of rental accommodation for up to 6 people. The rental accommodations are comfortable and offer plenty of luxury. The campsite restaurant is the place to be for a tasty snack. Go for a pizza, fish dish or something else from the menu. In Royan you will find many more catering establishments, mainly fish restaurants.

Fun in the water

There is a small swimming pool on the campsite. It has a nice spot among the trees. Next to the deep pool is a shallow paddling pool with water games. You can have more fun in the sea. You walk in a few minutes to the beautiful, clean beach of Pontaillac. Bring a shovel and bucket so you can collect shells. A nice memento of your holiday!

Sport and games

If you have had enough fun in the water, you can continue the fun on dry land. Hit a ball on the tennis court, get some people together to play volleyball and challenge each other to a game of pétanque. Children can play in the playground and on the bouncy castle. In the evening there is always plenty of entertainment. Check out the magic shows or performances. Fun!

Travelling party: Couple

As of today we are still on site here. The location is excellent, just a short walk to the beach area.
Checking in yesterday was quite slow. The receptionist was very friendly and efficient but the policy of 'go around on foot and come back when you select a pitch' means that there may be some people ahead of you doing the same and when you eventually get back to the reception the pitch selected may be already taken. Haven't tried the pool yet but it looks excellent.
The main sanitary block has, on one side a row of unisex toilet cubicles. They are clean and well maintained. However the nearest place to wash hands after using the toilet are in separate cubicles that apparently are all locked out of the high season. When we queried this we were told at reception that we could wash hands in the sinks used for eating and cooking utensils or the laundry sinks at the sides of the sanitary block. Definitely not good enough! We pointed the bad hygiene situation out to the staff at reception and we were told they would report our comments to the management.

Notre séjour au camping s'est très bien déroulé. Nous avons eu la bonne surprise de découvrir la piscine avec une extension et couverte. Ce camping est très calme et très près du centre-ville et la plage à pied. Le personnel est très sympathique et le camping est très propre et très bien organisé.

Liked - An excellent clean site with a superb pool with flumes. Very clean and tidy with staff that worked throughout the day maintaining standards.
Disliked - A small pitch comparatively. A long walk to dispose of rubbish which should be more centrally located. The bar only opened on rare occasions and one time turned the lights out on us at 10pm and left us sitting in darkness.

nice site very welcoming close to beach and a nice safe cycle route into royan the bar and restaurant looked very nice very clean toilets and showers also have very long hose pipes to fill up your water tanks.
