Centrally situated in the island Ile d’Oléron, at the edge of the forest, lies campsite La Cailletière. Ile d’Oléron is a large island off the French coast, in the Bay of Biscay. This virtually flat island has a large number of sandy beaches. The nearest beach is four km away from the campsite. La Cailletière is a quiet family campsite with lots of greenery and a remarkable amount of flowers. You camp here on grass under old oak trees.

In the forest
Camping La Cailletière is located in a wooded area. The campsite is lush and floral: oaks, oleanders, palm trees, eucalyptus trees and mimosa. The campsite has forty touring pitches and the same number of permanent pitches. Furthermore, rental accommodation is also available: thirty mobile homes and six lodge tents. The touring pitches are located on a separate section of the campsite, on grassy fields under trees. If you prefer, you can choose a pitch at the edge of the forest.
Heated swimming pool
Centrally located on the campsite you will find a beautiful heated swimming pool with sliding roof. Weather permitting, the indoor pool is transformed into an outdoor pool. For the little ones there is a tiny separate toddler pool, which is separated from the large pool with an additional fence. There are a great many loungers on the tiled sun deck.
Cycle island
Ile d’Oléron measures 12 km in width and is 34 km long. There are numerous signposted cycling routes on flat cycling paths. If you have not brought your bicycle, you can hire one from the campsite. Cycle to the old lighthouse and the surrounding ornamental gardens. Visit the markets in the various villages on the island. Alternatively, cycle along the beaches and promenades and enjoy the view of the Atlantic Ocean.
