Attention fishermen: this is the ideal campsite for a fishing holiday in France. Camping du Vivier aux Carpes is situated next to several fishing ponds and the river Somme. You will be camping in the peaceful countryside of Picardy. Cast your fishing line and enjoy the peace and quiet. And of those many biting carp! If you want to get away from it all, drive to Saint-Quentin. Between the mansions and squares are nice pavement cafés. And don't forget to visit the large basilica.

Camping with privacy

The campsite consists of sheltered holiday spots, closed off from the outside world by green bushes and trees. The perfect place to completely unwind. Paved paths lead to your pitch. It is spacious and delimited by hedges. The best pitches are located by the pond.

Active holidays

In between fishing you might like to do something else. Swimming, for example. That is possible at this campsite. The indoor pool at the front of the campsite may not be very big, but it's great for a quick dip. Take a bike and explore the rolling countryside of Picardy. The weekly market in Saint-Quentin is a great destination.

Fresh croissants and pizza

Fresh bread, fruit and vegetables and a tasty pizza... That is all you need on a holiday. You can get it all at the campsite. The baker comes by every day with croissants and baguettes. And in the campsite's snack bar you can get fries or a pizza. Take a seat on the lovely covered terrace and enjoy your meal.

"The campsite is located on the edge of the village. An ideal campsite for carp anglers, hikers and cyclists. From a number of camping pitches you can fish in a natural fish pond. A very nice site with beautiful marked pitches. There is a friendly atmosphere."

Travelling party: Family with children <4 years

Liked - Peaceful quiet location. Friendly welcoming owners. Great facilities and great fishing.
Disliked - It is a real shame the restaurant is not open all season, as the food is excellent when available. This is not a dislike or criticism more of a nice to have.

Liked - A site often used as a one night stopover, but it’s better than that. Next time I plan to stay longer. Pitches are level and easy to access, sanitary facilities are top notch.

Liked - Beautiful site, excellent facilities, a bar serving cold, delicious beer after a long journey and to top it off a friendly host! Did I mention a bread truck delivering baguettes and pastries for breakfast? Only stayed one night en route to Calais but will certainly return. Sited on the edge of a pretty village, lots of walks along the local rivers and canals, and a short hop to the town with supermarkets etc. Great place!

Liked - Stayed overnight. Perfect stopover, easy prebooking and excellent vfm with ACSI, efficient checkin, friendly staff and atmosphere. Clean, warm showers and toilets. The standout for us, ensuring we will return, was the setting. Surrounded by small lakes, we had water on both sides, our pitch on the waters edge. Families of ducks wandering past and chickens. The sounds of nature so relaxing. A lovely bar, sat outside in the evening sun. Absolutely loved this site! They also will arrange your vet visit if you are returning. Restaurant & small pool too. Bread van. War graves nearby, worth a visit.
Disliked - Nothing I can think of. Maybe some sort of edging, like planters around the outdoor bar seating to separate it from the drive/ carpark.
