This amiable, very child-friendly campsite with plenty of greenery and a rural, slightly casual appearance, is located close to the centre of the village of Saint-Hilaire-la-Forêt. The campsite has a gorgeous and extensive swimming pool which guests of all ages are guaranteed to enjoy. Cool off in the different pools, swish down the chutes or enjoy the play equipment. In high season there is a bus service from the campsite to the beach of Les Sables-d’Olonne.

Rural campsite

The reception, constructed of wood, enhances the rural character of the campsite, almost like a farm. With a campsite name like this (‘métairie’ = smallholding) this comes as no surprise. There is also a lovely petting zoo which gives the campsite its rural character.

Camping amidst green

Camping La Grand’ Métairie is situated on a beautifully finished and well maintained terrain with room for 42 touring pitches. You are camping here close to the village, but due to the abundance of greenery from the trees, plants and hedges it feels like you are staying in the countryside. The pitches are level, measure between 80 to 100 m2 and are separated from each other by hedges and shrubs. Most pitches are sufficiently spacious for a car and caravan or a motorhome.

In addition, there are some 125 rental accommodation units (caravans, mobile homes and furnished tents) on a separate site.

Ride on the tractor

Near the petting zoo is a vegetable garden at children's height with nameplates of the different vegetables. The kids club organises regular gardening workshops. Each evening children can join a 'children's parade' in the cart behind the old tractor of owner Denis. What fun!

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years

All round family favourite. We’ve been travelling to here for the last 45 years!

Travelling party: Family with children <4 years

Family with 3 and 1 year old. Mum Dad 2 Grandmas and Grandad. Mum And Dad loved the area entertaiment,Children loved the farm. Grandmas loved the pools.Grandad loved the price ha ha !!
