In the southern Vendée on the Atlantic Ocean, in the vicinity of Les Sables d’Olonne (40 km) and La Rochelle (60 km), you will find the lively seaside town of La Tranche-sur-Mer. Here you can look forward to a large number of restaurants and there are shops galore. There also is a daily market. It is here that you will find campsite La Grande Vallée, located between the trees and only 700 m away from the sea, with a lovely sandy beach.

Campsite
It is a rather small, but generally busy campsite with many touring pitches and some mobile homes. The campsite is well maintained and exudes an easygoing atmosphere. The touring pitches are more or less demarcated, in rows between trees, rather spacious, with sun or shade. Most pitches are sufficiently spacious to accommodate a car and caravan and have a grassed surface. In addition to mobile homes, there are also some canvas bungalows for hire.
Camping La Grande Vallée attracts a wide range of nationalities, obviously the French, but also some English, Dutch, Belgian and German guests. Both young families and slightly older guests.
Beach
The campsite does not have its own swimming pool, but it is only a 600 m walk on a tarred road to the beach of the Atlantic Ocean (be careful when crossing the road).
Activities
There is little entertainment: 2x weekly in high season only for children up to 12 years of age. There is also a weekly jeu de boule competition for adults (with participants from surrounding campsites).
Sanitary facilities
The sanitary facilities are new, always immaculately clean and well maintained. There are sufficient toilets and showers for the number of pitches.
