In the southern part of the Vendée, towards the bordering Charente-Maritime region, you will find a former municipal campsite, now called Camping L’Ile Cariot. The campsite is only five minutes from the centre of Chaillé-les-Marais. The campsite resembles an island in the heart of the Marais Poitevin, the renowned marshland. You can go for endless walks, cycle rides or road trips.

This friendly family campsite has virtually only tourist pitches. These are nice and spacious pitches on which you can easily park your car and caravan, or even a large motorhome.
Never too young to learn
In low season you will mainly find seniors of all nationalities, whereas in high season there are many families with young children. The campsite is mostly geared towards this target group, although the activities on and around the campsite are fun for children of all ages. Enjoy fishing in one of the creeks or play a game of pétanque. You are never too young to learn; this applies here, too.
Grilled chicken
In the shop you can buy lovely regional products; fresh bread has to be ordered a day in advance. On Sundays you can buy grilled chicken for lunch. Bon appetit!
Jewellery making and archery
There is a small heated swimming pool. In peak season you can design and make your own jewellery. Fun for both children and parents. On Fridays you can take archery lessons. Tennis enthusiasts take note: at a distance of some 100 m from the campsite you will find a tennis court which you can freely use. Great 'service'!
