Camping L'Isle Verte is a beautifully located campsite, right on the banks of the Loire. The campsite is situated in the charming village of Montsoreau in Maine-et-Loire. This is a good starting point to visit the castles, caves and vineyards in the area. In addition, many cyclists use this campsite as a stopover. There are even special accommodations available for them.

Pitches with river view

Along the shore you will find a strip of camping pitches and accommodations. An attractive area with a view over the river at many places. Most of the touring pitches are neatly demarcated and therefore have a lot of privacy. In terms of rental accommodation, there are various types of mobile homes, chalets and lodge tents available. Special are the bivouac tents. These are built on poles and equipped with LED lighting, telephone charging systems and of course beds. Bivouac tents are rented out to cyclists who stay overnight at this campsite while taking the popular Loire à Vélo cycle route.

Swimming fun and creative entertainment

he swimming pool of this campsite is a nice place to take a refreshing dip. Because of the size of the pool it is also possible to swim laps. Enjoy the sun on the sunbeds around the pool. If you prefer to lie in the shade, just slide your sun bed under one of the parasols. In high season an entertainment team organises all kinds of fun activities.

Tasty dishes and local wines

The campsite has a pleasant restaurant where guests can enjoy tasty salads, sandwiches, pizzas and meat dishes. The accompanying pavement café is a pleasant place to stay. Once a week there is live music in the restaurant. Occasionally wine tastings are organised at the campsite.

Liked - The site is well equipped the facilities are kept spotlessly clean. We enjoyed trying the local wines that were for sale in the main reception.
Disliked - Given that many of the campers are from th eUK [over 60% during our visit], we would recommend the site offers a more flexible check in time.

Liked - This is an excellent campsite, right on the banks of the Loire. Large pitches (right by the river if you book it in advance) with great views. The facilities are spotless and the staff are friendly and helpful. Often used by cyclists doing the Loire route (who are well catered for), as well as the usual motorhomes and caravans. Highly recommended.
Disliked - Can't think of much that could be improved!

Liked - Stayed two nights in lovely village of Montsoreau. Site in village on beautiful stretch of loot and access to cycle path just outside. Facilities excellent and immaculate, best on our trip. Site itself was very full but quiet and pitches are well segregated and shaded. Certainly will use again
Disliked - Some issues both mornings with power interumptions, but these things happen.

Liked - Stayed for 5 nights. Would have liked to stay longer. Riverside pitch with good views Liked the small town and market on Sunday. Good restaurant be and café in centre.. Wine tasting at near by cellars. Saumur an easy drive. All very clean and well cared for. Reception was welcoming and helpful..
Disliked - Better instructions for finding the campsite. Electricity kept going off in the morning at breakfast time.
