Gently undulating limestone plateaus with caves and deep river canyons: this describes the Lot region, where the cosy Camping La Truffière campsite is situated. The grounds beneath the oak trees offer spacious pitches, a lovely atmosphere and panoramic views over the valley. An ideal spot for lovers of quietude.

Panoramic view

The undulating and partly sloping terrain is spaciously laid out and shaded by oak trees. The pitches are laid out on terraces with magnificent views or on a flat grassy strips. The surface is very firm. Authentic wooden chalets can also be rented.

The Lot river

The playfully designed, heated swimming pool is centrally located in a sunny spot. There is also a toddler pool. With spacious surroundings to relax: loungers are provided. The river Lot also offers swimming opportunities and a 5-minute drive away is a supervised beach shaded by tall trees. There, you can also hire a pedalo or canoe.

Beautiful walks

In the centre of the grounds is a very sizeable play area with trampolines, a jeux de boules pitch, table tennis tables, volleyball field, fitness course, monkey bridge, climbing wall and playground equipment. Children have all the space they need and will not get bored. Entertainment is also available (treasure hunt, crafts, games day). In high season guests can go on a boat cruise or join group walking tours.

Limited menu

There is a modest restaurant with limited menu, a bar and a terrace. Near the reception is a small shop with basic necessities and bread service. There is a supermarket 19 km away.

Sanitary facilities

There are a few sanitary buildings in different locations on the camping grounds. They are partly renovated and are well maintained.

Liked - Helpful, friendly staff, comfortable accommodation and wonderful sound of birdsong and rustling of trees in a beautiful location.
Disliked - Staff to keep restaurant and takeaway pizza open

Travelling party: Group of friends

Liked - We loved the peace and quiet, the woods, the wild flowers, the hares - so amazing to see hares early morning - but also the swimming pool and the restaurant just 100 yards away from our chalet. And the campsite is near to interesting villages and the river Lot and Cahors, which we loved, and the caves at Pech Merle.

Travelling party: Couple

We only stayed one night . The roads to this site are far too narrow for caravans . There is a hairpin bend that is very very difficult on one of the approaches.
The site is rugged and dirty pitches in a forest . No clearly defined pitches .Shower block dirty showers cold . No toilet seats. We will not be back . Town was beautiful to see.

Liked - Fantastic pool area and playground with trampolines (even for adults). Great food. Great location.
Disliked - The little house wasn’t very clean and the towels we got were only hand towels. The menu choices weren’t enough.

Liked - We like the region and the view of our accomodation.
Disliked - We didn’t received what we booked and paid for. We booked 7 months before our stay, an error occured for their side and the only thing we received was “sorry, nothing to do about it…”. We only received 50 euro’s to pay the difference of a 3 rooms cabin and a 2 rooms cabin….

Liked - Lovely chilled and relaxed overnight stay at short notice.Lovely pool, bar and food , pitch fabulous view and receptionist very friendly and helpful.

Liked - Accueil physique. Petite épicerie de dépannage.
Disliked - Pas de réservation possible par téléphone. Uniquement par internet.
Emplacement non adapté aux tentes : sol trop dur. Alors que nous aurions pu l'expliquer par téléphone...
Pas de table de pic nic, obligé de manger par terre.
Bruit jusqu'à 22h30.
Et on se fait engueuler à 7h alors que nous ne faisions pas de bruit...
Finalement, nous avons payé 50€ pour pouvoir poser deux petites tentes et prendre une douche.
Dommage car l'équipe est sympa !
Ca n'est tout simplement pas adapté aux randonneurs.

Travelling party: Single

Liked - The ambiance of the site set in an amphitheater The emphasis on tents and caravans and fewer motor homes - a proper campsite. The friendly staff and the overall upkeep of the site.
Disliked - The actual emplacements were a bit rough and uneven, especially for camping. Electrical connections were haphazard.
