Domaine Le Poteau is a small-scale campsite in a remote part of the Gers countryside, in the heart of Gascony. Scottish owners Alistair and Fiona have turned their small campsite into a charming camping destination for those seeking peace and quiet.

Welcome!

The campsite is located a little outside the village of Castelnau-d'Auzan. You will be camping in a perfectly tended orchard, far away from big cities and tourist attractions. So you can count on finding the peace you're looking for here. The small scale also contributes to this. Because of the Scottish owners, you will encounter many British people at the campsite, but French and Dutch people also know how to find Domaine Le Poteau. In 2019, the sanitary facilities at the campsite were renovated. So you can use modern and very well-maintained sanitary facilities.

Relaxation at the campsite

A short distance from the pitches is a small swimming pool. This pool is too small for swimming laps in. If you do want to go swimming, there is an outdoor swimming pool in the village. With a background as a chef, Alistair enjoys getting behind the stove for his campers. If there is enough interest, a weekly dinner is organised in the orchard.

Authentic villages

In the immediate vicinity of Domaine Le Poteau are the most beautiful French villages. 17 kilometres away, for example, is Fourcès. In this fortified town, the houses are built in a circle inside the city walls. Montréal-du-Gers (12 kilometres away) and Larressingle (23 kilometres away) are also worth a visit.

Fantastische ontvangst!!
Heerlijke rustige camping met zeer ruime plekken voldoende zon en schaduw! Heerlijk ruim sanitair!!

Heerlijke rustige camping tussen de wijnvelden. Dit is een Toppertje. 10 dagen gekampeerd, en echt heel erg genoten. Gastvrije Schotten, lekker in de hangmat op een lome luie middag, mooie plekken om te kamperen, zwembadje om af te koelen, en uitstekend sanitair. Alisdair en Fiona koken 2x per week, iedere ochtend brood van de Boulanger, en 1 keer in de week bio groente van de buurt groenteboer. Veel gemarkeerde wandelroutes in de omgeving bij LaBastide d\'armagnac, uitstekend Vegan restaurant in Condom (check HappyCow app).

Domaine Le Poteau is een prachtige, rustige camping waar je heerlijk kunt ontspannen. Je kampeert op ruime plekken tussen de bomen, dus als de zon te veel wordt is er voldoende schaduw om in te relaxen. De toiletten en douchefaciliteiten zijn brandschoon en ook erg mooi! De eigenaren, Fiona en Alasdair zijn super aardig en gastvrij en hebben alles aan gedaan om ons verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken. Wij werden verzorgd met een welkomstdrankje bij aankomst, een rondleiding van de camping en veel tips over goede restaurants in de buurt. Ook kregen we uitebreide informatie over rijke omgeving. Ze konden eigenlijk niet genoeg voor ons doen. Vanuit de camping kun je lopen naar het dorpje Castelnau d\'Auzan. In het dorp zijn een paar leuke restaurants en cafes, een supermarkt en wat andere kleine winkels, en een openbaar buitenzwembad (er is ook een klein zwembadje op de camping). Er zijn ook 2 zelfstandige gites die op een ander deel van de camping liggen. Ze hebben beiden veel ruimte en een prachtig uitzicht over het dorp. Ook zijn ze mooi en gezellig ingericht. De regio is niet zo heel erg bekend maar heeft absoluut veel te bieden met prachtige Franse dorpjes, historische plekken, veel markten en een overvloed aan ambachtelijke producten. We hebben daardoor ontzettend veel gezien en gedaan maar vaak was het gewoon heerlijk om te genieten van de rust en ruimte op de camping zelf. Wij zouden het iedereen zeker aanraden!

Ons verblijf dit jaar is de derde keer hier, de omgeving en de camping doen ons ieder jaar terugkomen naar dit gebied. De rust op de camping en vriendelijkheid van de eigenaren maken onze vakantie compleet. Alsof je thuiskomt. Er zijn wat dieren, er ligt een zwembad op het terrein in de naastgelegen wijngaard en de faciliteiten zijn goed. Ook het dorpje is lopend te bereiken waar een kleine supermarkt 7 dagen in de week open is wat een luxe is hier.
De plaatsen en camping zijn altijd goed onderhouden met voldoende schaduw wat voor ons als tent kampeerders extra fijn is. Bedankt Fiona en Alasdair! Tot een volgende keer.
