Camping Du Lac Mercus is a small campsite next to the lake with the same name, located in the heart of the Ariège in the Occitanie region, Midi Pyrénée. A well-kept campsite situated on the water's edge, where low-hanging trees provide shady pitches. Here you camp in peace and quiet, in the middle of nature. The shallow lake is ideal for water sports enthusiasts and anglers.

Pitches on the bank

Spacious camping pitches are situated under low trees on the shores of the lake Mercus, a widening of the river Ariège. They provide plenty of shade on the touring pitches right by the water, but the pitches on the higher terraces are also shady. On some touring pitches you can camp with extra privacy, because they are protected by hedges. There are about the same number of pitches as rental accommodation.

Swimming and sunbathing

A small swimming pool allows you to cool down in the water. This is also possible in the lake, but it is less suitable for swimming. The bottom is quite muddy and the water is shallow, so it is better to dive into the campsite's swimming pool. The swimming pool, accompanied by a small paddling pool, is in full sun. An ideal location for sunbathing.

Water sports on the lake

Because the lake on which the campsite is situated is unfortunately not so suitable for swimming, water sports enthusiasts have free rein. On the flowing water you can sail and paddle surf very well. Canoes and kayaks can be rented near the campsite, but you can also take to the water from the jetty on the campsite. Fishermen will also love it there.

Liked - The owners were friendly and helpful. The cabin was clean and comfortable, lovely shower and kitchen had all we needed. We enjoyed having the bread and pain au chocolat delivered every morning!

Liked - Cracking campsite - good location, amenities, etc.

Liked - The site is beautifully situated in outstanding scenery. Reception was friendly and very helpful. Last stayed at the site over 20 years ago new owners who have made some excellent improvement. We had a great week even though it rained every day. So much to see and do in the area. One final point we were given keys to our own private toilet and shower, a nice touch
Disliked - Lack of a chemical toilet which meant I had to use the sites amenities and not my own
