In the green surroundings of the Vosges and located in the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park, you will find camping La Sténiole. This mountainous part of France in the northeast of the country is a superb walking region with vast forests. On the campsite you camp on pitches at the edge of the forest, where you can build and sit around a campfire at night. Savour the homemade pizzas and tarte flambée in the campsite restaurant.

Camping with a view of the forest

The camping pitches at campsite La Sténiole are located between trees and meandering streams. At the edge of the forest, around the small lake or on open lawns. You are staying on a terraced campsite, hence the camping pitches are located at different elevations. The mobile homes have a terrace with a beautiful view of the forest.

The highest water slide

Since 2018 campsite La Sténiole boasts the highest water slide in the area. Undoubtedly, children will be eager to slide down this chute. The slide is located near the outdoor swimming pool. There is also a indoor pool with a retractable roof. When it starts raining, the roof can be closed. You can also go fishing in the small lake. Getting onto the water with a canoe or rubber dinghy is also great fun.

Playing outdoors

Excursions from the campsite revolve around the beautiful nature. At the reception they will gladly provide you with information for an energetic walk in the Vosges. Furthermore, you can also indulge in mountain biking, bungee jumping or tree climbing in the area. The area around the campsite is a veritable outdoor play paradise for children. Here they can play near mountain streams in the woods or go canoeing on the lake.

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years

Liked - The camping is situated high on a mountain, surrounding with the forest. There is much to do for the kids. It was raining almost the hole week but fortunately there was A heated pool.

Travelling party: Seniors

Liked - Isolated site. Pitches spread out over large area. Mostly level. Reception very welcoming. I was taken to our pitch in a buggy but got lost on way back to it. Lots of families with young children. Pool and water slide busy. Campfires allowed. Large restaurant which was opening just after our stay. It’s in the middle of nowhere so very quiet. Several small new toilet/shower blocks.
Disliked - Road to get to site is narrow with lots of bends. A 3m pollarded gap after about 100m.

Liked - Very nice and large campsite, loved the layout and the lovely large pitches. Nice lady at reception to welcome us.
Disliked - Could do with some more bins as we only found one by the restaurant

Liked - Had a good stay although the weather was really bad. liked the car rim as a fireplace, roomy pitch and good showers spread out over the whole camping. good overall services: wifi, bread, pizza, restaurant.
Disliked - - showers weren't cleaned often enough,
- wifi was not good, an access point on every shower block is recommended,
- information about the restaurant would be usefull at check in

Liked - Loved the forest, size of pitches, swimming facilities and restaurants (both!)
Disliked - The condition of the toilets, washrooms and showers differs greatly (some very good, some way below average). Not all are clean during the day.
