Camping Les Granges Bas is a relatively simple, but beautiful campsite in the commune of Gérardmer, in the heart of the Vosges. The campsite is located two kilometres from the lake of Gérardmer. Boats, canoes and pedalos are used often here, and it is also possible to swim and fish. The campsite itself has a playground, table tennis table, boules pitch and tennis court.

A well-maintained campsite

Les Granges Bas campsite is located on a slope. You camp on well-kept lawns, separated by hedges or bushes. There are also several trees, nice for some shade. The smallest pitches are almost 100 m2 , the largest up to 160 m2. Many of the pitches have a beautiful view of the wooded hills that surround Les Granges Bas campsite. The campsite has ample sanitary facilities.

Are you here without camping equipment? In that case, you can stay in a mobile home, flat or lodge tent (without sanitary facilities). The mobile homes are suitable for two to six people, so larger families are also more than welcome.

For nature lovers and sports enthusiasts

This campsite is not brimming with entertainment, but it doesn't need to be. Listening to the birds in the sun in such a beautiful natural environment is also a treat. With a tennis court, table tennis table and boules pitch, there is plenty to do for sports enthusiasts. Children can burn off energy in the playground. In case of bad weather, the recreation room with television offers a solution.

In the winter, the more active people can also be found here. After all, you are camping close to a large winter sports area (located fifteen kilometres away). Skiing and cross-country skiing are favourites.

Liked - We stayed at a Cabane du’Oh, which was very cosy. Everything we needed was there (kitchenequipment etc). The owners of the camping and their staff are really kind and helped us with everything we needed. They organize a lot for their guests, which makes you feel really welcome! Vosges is a nice area when you enjoy cycling in the mountains or go for a hike. The nature is beautiful!
Disliked - We didn’t really dislike anything at the campsite, just really curious how it will be improved further in a few years!
While the nature in Vosges is beautiful, we missed some cultural things to do (but maybe we didn’t look good enough for it). We went to Épinal, but besides the castle we were a bit disappointed..

Liked - We had a great stay. Nice pitch at the back of the campsite. Nice view of the forest and land.
In our opinion the small bungalows make it a bit less beautiful. More open space in the total campsite would be nice.
Lovely swimming pool,
Playing area children and bar. We really enjoyed the food in the evening (flamkuchen and roti).
Obviously this campsite is just under new ownership. With a few changes this camping can be even better than it already is.

Disliked - Small (old) bungalows. The large amount of hedges. Other campers who drive to fast and create a lot of dust and danger for small children.

Liked - We really liked all the extra things that are organised. For instance the breaddepot and the foodtrucks are really Good services. The owners are very helpfull. The speak several languages. The toilet areas are cleaned several times a day so they are always clean. The site itself is calm and the surrounding invites you to just take a walk outside the campsite. Almost no traffic but still within 5 minutes of Gerardmer, the town that had al the shops you need.
Disliked - The terrace surface at the pool can be really hot on sunny days. Very tricky when you het there the first time.

Liked - Lovely surrounding, close to the trees, nice people, very clean, great trampoline and playground for the kids
Disliked - There was a horrible smell from the water purifying plant next to us, during working hours. After hours this was gone. For many other parts of the campsite you didn't smell this, and as there were so many pitches empty we did not really understand we were accommodated there. As we were just staying one night, this was no problem. For a longer stay I would have requested a different pitch. Water was also quite a long walk to the building.
