Just a few kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea, in the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region, is Flower Camping Altea. This is a campsite on the popular southern French coast where you will still experience a small-scale camping feeling. From the beach to the amusement park and from centuries-old cathedrals to wineries, in this beautiful area between Montpellier, Sète and Agde there is something for everyone.

Small-scale feeling

Flower Camping Altea has a small-scale atmosphere and a good balance between pitches and rental accommodation, such as mobile homes and bungalows. The sanitary facilities are neat and also accessible to disabled people. The campsite is located in the small village of Vic-la-Gardiole, between the towns of Montpellier and Sète.

Water fun and entertainment on dry land

The youngest campers won't be bored for a moment at Flower Camping Altea. In July and August they can join in with the entertainment programme and get their feet off the floor during the disco evenings. A bouncy castle completes the holiday feeling.

You can splash around in the campsite's swimming pool with paddling pool. The pools are ecological and beautifully designed with natural stone. Don't expect spectacular swimming pools with slides, just a place to enjoy a nice swim during a warm southern French day.

Restaurant and wine tasting

For some snacks, fries and pizza you can go to the campsite's restaurant. In the summer there are also fresh rolls and some groceries available. In the village you'll find some small supermarkets and bakeries within walking and cycling distance. And while we're on the subject of food and drink: you're camping here in the Languedoc-Roussillon region: the largest wine region in France.

Liked - Kurzfristig eine Nacht auf dem Platz verbracht. Netter Empfang, persönlich an den Stellplatz gebracht worden, Brötchenservice super. Unser Platz hatte eine eigene Dusche mit Toilette und kleiner Küche. Wirklich tolle Idee für Radfahrer oder Leute mit Zelt.

Liked - On arrival the lady on reception was very nice and helpful, couldn't fault her.
Nice clean site. Toilets and shower were clean.
They had mosquito machine around the camp but we still go bitten. No water point near pitch had to take the van round to designated MH point to fill up and empty waste water.
20mins walk to train station to take you into montpellier which took us12mins
Pretty much closed for the season with only the heated swimming open.
Disliked - Check pitches before next arrivals as ours stunk of poo with we cleaned up ourselves.

Liked - The campsite was clean, tidy and quiet . The plots were big. Staff very friendly and helpful and spoke amazing English and helped us with directions to local towns. Had an amazing stay and would definitely return if in the area.

Liked - Nice showers.
Disliked - No toilet tissue provided When camping , guests will not always have a ready supply of toilet tissue and even if the camp site shop sells toilet tissue, the shop may not be open when a guest discovers that the toilets do not have paper! This is a basic necessity, can be embarassing for guests and a bad decision by the site owner!
The other reason we only stayed one night was because of the sites noisy location near to a busy road. We visited in April not peak time

Liked - The both receptionists were very kind and helpful with any info.
The place looks very clean and renewed.
Def would recommend it.
Disliked - The main door closes at 10pm and you have to leave your car in a visitors parking outside the camping.
The wifi is not free.

Liked - Lovely pitch. Very clean. Not too far from the local spar, or a train station. 15/20 mins to each 5 minutes to a brilliant boulangerie.
A few restaurants in Mireval and a nice vineyard selling Muscat wines and a few others. . Not much else within walking distance.
Disliked - Lack of toilet paper and toilet seats. Mainly seats.
