Les Chênes campsite is located in a wooded area in the rugged countryside of the Gard. This well-maintained family campsite is a suitable destination for the whole family. You'll camp on shady pitches under oak trees, on a quiet campsite with an outdoor swimming pool.

Camping among the oak trees

On the campsite there is room for about seventy touring pitches. These well-maintained pitches are playfully laid out between the many oak trees. The trees form the natural delimitation of the pitches, while their low hanging branches provide nice shady spots. Which is very pleasant during the hot summer days in the south of France. You can also book one of the gypsy caravans or mobile homes.

Swimming pool in the sun

The swimming pool, situated in the middle of the campsite, is not particularly large, but it is a nice place for a cooling dip. The swimming pool is situated in an a sunny area. Luckily the surrounding trees provide some shade. Next to the swimming pool is a small paddling pool with a slide. For sunbathing there are the sun loungers.

Playing outside

On the campsite children can play outside, without a busy entertainment team or organised activities. A trampoline, various playground equipment, sports fields and a bouncy castle are ready for young camping guests. And of course, the swimming pool is also an important source of entertainment.

Shopping

For fresh bread, an ice-cream or a snack you can go to the campsite shop at the reception or to the snack bar. And for the daily groceries you don't have to go very far: within a ten minute drive you're in Sommières, where you’ll find several supermarkets.

Liked - ClC is a lovely, small, family run camping site. This eco-conscious site is situated in the countryside, between Montpellier and Nimes, away from the worst ravages of tourism. It is a well-kept site and had all the basic features we required. Our mobile home was clean and modern with a terrace shaded by trees. The sound of the cicadas by day and the Scops owls by night are woven into one's stay. The pool was very welcome, as was the possibility to grab a snack and drink. Our hosts, Aurélia and Julien, were a delight to know, always friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.
Disliked - None that I can think of. Our expectations were fully met by the site and its owners. Bravo, Aurélia and Julien!

Liked - Peaceful!
We loved this site - in fact we extended our booking while there as it was so peaceful. The owners were lovely and welcoming. The pool was an added bonus as we were there during a very hot spell.
This site also had some of the cleanest sanitary facilities we’ve ever experienced in many years camping. We will definitely return.

Liked - Shady trees were nice. Swimming pool and Amenties clean.
Disliked - There was no free wifi coverage throughout the whole campsite. Suggestion - a communal electric BBQ area (Australian campsites have them) for all guests to use.

Liked - The camping site is peaceful, safe and clean. It has all the basic amenities one could expect. The proprietors gave us a warm welcome, were very helpful and pleasant to engage with. The site is also well placed for sightseeing and nature trips. This was not our first stay and will not be the last.
Disliked - My wife, daughters and I have nothing negative to say about Camping les Chênes. We wish Mr and Mrs Dandel the best of success with their new venture.
