Cathar Country, located in the south of France, is a region which is simply bursting with its impressive history. A region with mountain rivers meandering through the landscape and with castles on high mountains speaking to the imagination. Camping in Cathar Country is perfect on Camping La Bernède, located near the spa town of Rennes-les-Bains. This is a campsite to relax, far from the main road.

Welcome

You will feel immediately at home. The serene tranquillity on the campsite will soon engulf you. Unscrew the caravan legs, pegs in the ground and enjoy! In low season you will see many French guests with a motorhome. They often stay overnight only and continue their journey in the morning.

Swimming and sports

The swimming pool is partly in the shade and borders a terrace with restaurant. The campsite has a tennis court, a volleyball field and a pétanque pitch. In high season all kinds of activities are organised for camping guests. Does the sea appeal to you? If so, it will only take an hour's drive to get there.

Cathar Country: wellness therapy and Carcassonne

The cold water and hot water springs of Rennes-les-Bains are famous. Slightly north of the campsite you will find the spa of Rennes-les-Bains, perfect to relax after a short stroll through the village itself. Visit the castles from the Cathar period, such as the amazingly impressive Peyrepertuse castle.

It goes without saying that you will also explore the narrow alleyways within the city walls of Carcassonne with its inviting side walk cafes around just about every corner. In peak season it is invariably teeming with people, but always has a lovely atmosphere.
