On the banks of the Loire, within walking distance of the village of Gien, you will find Sites & Paysages Camping de Gien. This campsite in central France is spacious and many of the pitches offer views of the river. The campsite has a pool with a sliding roof, so you can swim even on days when the weather is less than ideal. The campsite offers direct access to the beach.

Sleeping in a gypsy wagon

Sites & Paysages Camping de Gien has nearly two hundred pitches along the banks of the Loire. These pitches are spacious and partially separated by hedges. If you do not have your own camping equipment, you can stay in one of our unique accommodations. Sleep in an elevated safari tent or in a wooden gypsy wagon with private bathroom.

Water recreation and heading to the beach

You can cool off at the campsite in the zodiac swimming pool. This is a pool with an inflatable rim, making it extra safe. The pool has a sliding roof, so it can also be used as an indoor pool. Prefer a real beach experience? Along the banks of the Loire River is a sandy beach overlooking the village of Gien. You can access it directly from the campsite. The beach club organises various beach activities for small children and young people during the summer.

Great cycling: Loire à Vélo

Bring your steel steed with you on holiday and explore the area. The Loire à Vélo is an absolute must for long-distance cyclists. The bike route runs from Cuffy (near Nevers) to Saint-Brevin-les-Pins (Loire-Atlantique). Sites & Paysages Camping de Gien lies directly along the path of the nine-hundred-kilometre-long bike route.

"Quiet family campsite with many shaded pitches on the banks of the Loire river near the castle of Gien. The pitches are not delimited and give a great sense of freedom. The city of Gien is known for its pottery. At the campsite is a heated swimming pool that can be covered in case of bad weather and a pool for small children. Along the Loire, you can do cycling. ' Loire à Vélo ' cycle routes are marked. Rental of canoes, bikes and caravans with hotel service."

Travelling party: Single

Liked - The site is pleasant and quiet with views over the river from my pitch, made it special.
Disliked - Head of administration, needs to be Fired! They knew the main road to the site was going to be closed, so any well run establishment that had arrivals for that day should have been notified by text and email, at least the day before. Turning a twin axle caravan in that road was a headache.
No diversion route to the campsite was shown anywhere. I had to rely on my map skills, when on my own.
Not even an apology from the older gentleman that was gardening, although let me in. I was really cross because of no communication.

Liked - This is a lovely, pretty and tranquil site on the Loire. A five minute walk to the town of Gien. Plenty of interesting places to visit locally. The owners, Patricia and Didier are super, very friendly and helpful. Fresh bread every morning, a grocery across the road, and a good restaurant on the site.
