On the outskirts of Saint-Gaultier, a small town on the river Creuse, is the campsite Oasis du Berry. The camping site of this quiet campsite is green; you camp under full trees, on sheltered and spacious touring pitches. It's an oasis of peace and quiet, where the children can enjoy themselves (sports fields, playground, swimming pool).

Sheltered pitches

The campsite Oasis du Berry is shaded by tall trees. You camp at the edge of the village, against a forest on the banks of the river. South of the campsite, the woods and fields stretch out over the French countryside. Just like the surroundings, the campsite is green. 41 touring pitches are nicely sheltered under low hanging trees on spacious lawns. This assures you of a quiet camping pitch with privacy.

Swimming pool and sports fields

With its playground and sports fields (soccer field, volleyball field, basketball field and bowling alley), there are plenty of opportunities for children to play at the Oasis du Berry campsite. The summer animation is also fun for the young guests, although the animation team only speaks French. A dip in the open air swimming pool always does the trick.

Homemade grill burgers

The terrace of the restaurant overlooks the swimming pool. You sit here nicely, overlooking the woods. Even when it rains, the terrace is covered and very spacious. The staff of the restaurant prepares delicious dishes with great care. You can taste homemade pizzas and grilled burgers, mostly prepared with local products. Regularly you'll find cosiness on the terrace, while enjoying a glass of wine and a nice fresh meal.

A quiet and serene place. The facilities are clean and good quality. The swimming pool is one of the best. There is a good bar and restaurant which serves good food at reasonable prices. Take-away pizza too. The management team are very helpful and friendly. Supermarket (and Friday market) in the town about 15 minutes walk. The campsite is right next to a Voie Vert cycle path. Almost all the pitches are slightly sloping, and you may need a long lead for hook-up on some pitches.
We intended to stay for 2 nights - but stayed a lot longer!
