The name of Camping Loire et Châteaux says it all: the campsite lies in the heart of the Val de Loire, the region which is well known for its many castles. The campsite is in a beautiful rural location and radiates in all respects the freedom which makes camping so special. Here you will find numerous amenities for cyclists.

Amenities for cyclists

The spacious camping pitches are beautifully laid out and nice and sunny. The relatively young vegetation does not provide much shade. Campsite Loire et Châteaux is popular with cyclists. There is a dedicated covered area for them where they can prepared their meals and eat. In addition to mobile homes and bungalow tents, the campsite also rents out so-called Campétoiles, tents on stilts providing an ideal accommodation for hikers and cyclists.

Heated outdoor pool

A refreshing swim after a tiring day of cycling, walking or visiting castles? You can do so in the heated outdoor pool next to the restaurant. The swimming pool offers special provisions for guests with physical limitations. The littlest ones can splash around in the paddling pool.

One cannot imagine a French campsite without a petanque court. Hence, you can hit a few balls on this campsite, too. During the months of July and August there are even organised competitions. During this period there are also great theme evenings.

Restaurant and shop

If you don't feel like cooking one day, you can go to the restaurant. They offer a daily menu as well as some basic dishes. You can enjoy a drink on the terrace adjacent to the swimming pool. Basic and regional products are available in the shop.

Liked - A really warm welcome. Good pitch and the facilities are great. Plenty of hot water and kept really clean. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the method of cooking is very different.
The campsite hosts are great people, nothing is too much trouble. Cycling from the campsite is fantastic with Chateau’s to visit in every direction. The small town of Langeais is nearby with lovely cafes, Chateau and a decent sized supermarket. Well worth a visit.
Disliked - The only improvement will come with time as the trees and shrubs grow to provide more shade.

Liked - The site was small and busy, yet peaceful and quiet. Just what we were looking for. The facilities were very good for a small site and everyone, both campers of all nationalities, and particularly the host and hostess were so friendly and helpful. And they came to our rescue when our car wouldn't start on leaving.
Disliked - Toilet paper in the cubicles, rather than having to guess how much you need before going in would be better

Liked - We enjoyed visiting several nearby chateaux and particularly recommend Villandry.The gardens are outstanding.
Disliked - Brehemont is charming but lacking in facilities. Unfortunately the boulangerie was closed at the time of our visit.

Liked - The situation is ideal for visiting the many wonderful châteaux in a short distance away..
The accommodation was simply lovely, modern, tasteful and chic.
The welcome on arrival is charming and the whole atmosphere of this tranquil spot is cordial and fun. We hope to come back in Spring time.

A flat, level, open plan campsite with no division between pitches. Popular with one-nighters, many cycling along the Loire, so if you don\'t like your neighbours, they\'ll probably change by tomorrow!

The large central toilet facilities were clean and spacious, but with no toilet seats. Toilet roll was in a dispenser outside the cubicles.

The food on offer was pretty basic - pizzas, tacos and chips - but the beer was cold and the bar had plenty of outside, shaded, seats.

The site is close to the Loire and associated cycle routes.
