Camping Les Portes de Sancerre is a quiet campsite on the banks of the Loire, which forms the natural border of the departments of Cher and Nièvre. You'll camp on shady grounds in a wine region around Sancerre, the medieval village where famous wines from the Sauvignon Blanc originate. A tasting in one of the local wineries is definitely an option!

Camping on the Loire
In the quiet campsite you will camp on shady touring pitches, the most beautiful of which are situated directly on the banks of the Loire. The site is separated from the river by a fence. Most of the touring pitches are undefined, which gives a spacious feeling. On the left side of the campsite you'll find most of the rental accommodation. They are mainly mobile homes, but also some lodge tents.
The Loire
There is a swimming pool next to the campsite, which guests can use. But especially the Loire, which runs along the campsite, is an attractive place for water lovers. Not only can you swim in the river. At the campsite you also get the chance to go canoeing or kayaking. If you prefer to stay on dry land a walk along the river bank will give you a nice impression of the river and the adjoining hilly landscape.
Old, but clean sanitary facilities
The sanitary facilities on the campsite are rather outdated and do not always work properly. However, the campsite staff is helpful. A facility that no longer works will be repaired as soon as possible. Moreover, the sanitary facilities are kept very clean.
