Camping Des Étangs is a quietly situated four star resort measuring only two hectares. You camp here at an elevation of almost two hundred metres and at a ten minute walk from the friendly, historic town of Aubigny-sur-Nère. In this region (the Sologne) you will find tranquillity, nature, castles, vineyards and an extensive array of historical heritage. The campsite is popular with both couples and families. The campsite has a very modest, but well-tended swimming pool. Some ten steps further you will find the elegantly situated lake, a swimming, fishing and recreational water in one.

A spacious pitch in the shade

On this quiet and small-scale campsite you will find 85 shaded or less shaded pitches. Everything is perfectly maintained. There are only spacious to very spacious pitches. The tall trees offer the ideal shade. The lake bordering the grounds is a lovely fishing spot. Suitable for swimming for all because of its shallow depth. You can also rent bungalows and chalets.

Water fun galore

The lovely swimming pool on the campsite is eminently suitable for a quick refreshing dip. From the swimming pool you have a view of the small lake. This lends itself better for a proper swim. There is also a small river which flows behind the swimming pool. Would you like to spend a day in a really large swimming pool? If so, you can go the the municipal pool adjacent to the campsite. As a camping guest you will have access at a discounted fee.

Enjoy the French cuisine

The small supermarket is open only in high season, during which time you can also get daily fresh bread and pastries. The small supermarket, bar as well as the beautiful restaurant (French cuisine) are extremely well-kept.

Scenic walks around the lakes and into Aubigny
Cycling
Disliked - Would like to see more traditional French cuisine on the site restaurant menu.
A number of the restaurants in Aubigny were closed. Perhaps that was because it was late in the season.

Liked - The pitches are very spacious. The campsite is kept really tidy. The sanitary blocks are clean.
Disliked - A couple of times we went up to the restaurant and, although there were tables free (and not reserved) we were told there were none available.

Disliked - Being woken up at 7.30 by workmen clearing leaves from around pitch. Totally understand that storms caused huge leaf drop but workmen had no respect for our caravan. Maybe we could have been advised of this work the previous day?
